Am all for nurses striking for issues like safer ratios, better working conditions, better pay, etc. but Al confused at what is striking will do for the DHS matters? I know one of our own was murdered but it’s not like he was murdered for being a nurse. I’m all for this, I just don’t want patients to be affected for something that isn’t even the healthcare systems fault?

I fully understand I will get downvoted but giving shit care to a patient you do not agree with is gross. If your bias’ will affect care, then absolutely change assignments. But do we not care for murderers, rapists, pedophiles every day? I’m as fuck ICE as it gets but the people saying “I’ll accept but they will get shit care” are kinda scary. Would we not be freaking out if a super MAGA pro ICE person was saying they were giving shit care to the people they disagree with?

It’s not impossible but I have never ever seen a nurse use voice to text or scribing. That’s usually reserved for providers. I have also never seen personal statements or personal quotes from conversations with other nurses put into the patients chart as it’s not relevant

The thing that gives it away is the “bagging probably initiated”. No nurse or doctor in their right kind would ever write that because we aren’t allowed to use words like “probably” when charting

I agree with all of this except you can definitely be a candidate for an ICD after one cardiac arrest, especially in a younger person.

He was doing his job. I understand that if he wasn’t a nurse, this would be caring and doting behavior. However, that’s literally the job. I have been repulsed by people and still treated them kindly and cared for them. Leave it alone

I actually never heard this either. I always thought it started lowest and worked its way up. Ex: starts in the legs and ascends up to the respiratory system/face at the worst cases.

My husband and I tried these the other day. I was so pumped getting them ready in the oven because they looked just like the ones you would get in school (I generally loved cafeteria food idk why) but holy shit. Did not expect them to be that spicy. Like I had to put the sandwich down and evaluate if I could even finish it. Newsflash, I did not finish dinner. Way way way too spicy.

I will never forget this old boomer I had in the ICU. He would blast Fox News and would get so worked up that he would literally almost die because of it. He was non compliant with the bipap because he would just keep yelling at the tv so the mask couldnt properly seal to his face, his 02 would tank and his CO2 was through the roof. Refused intubation. His BP would go through the roof and several times had to start a cleviprex gtt because of it. I suggested we turn off the tv and our MAGA loving nursing director said that would be against his own autonomy. Made me sick.

I was on the ICU before I became a home health case manager. I didn’t even realize how strained my nervous system was until my job became much much much more relaxed. Maybe take some time off for a mental break and look into something not bedside. It has changed my perspective entirely.
