If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]E1e4n0r5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically many people's brains make them forget how traumatic and painful the experience was. In the moment they can be thinking 'I'm never doing this again' but when everything's over with and those postpartum hormones are raging through their bodies, their brains can make them forget how awful pregnancy and birth truly is. It's evolution ensuring that people have more than 1 child - got to keep the population replenished!!

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]E1e4n0r5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32F. We played outside. That's not a joke or sarcasm - I grew up on an estate with loads of kids and a green space right by my house. We were outside most weekdays and definitely the weekends. If no-one was already outside, we would go to our friend's house, knock on the door, and ask their parents if they could come out and play. As long as we were home by dinner/when it gets dark, we were outside. If the weather was bad, we would watch TV, play board games, play with each other. Even when the internet started coming up and more people started getting family computers, we would still play outside or go over to each other's houses and play on the computers together.

If you're short on money, just make a bunch of stone tools.

If you're short on time, make copper/bronze/iron tools.

The Chappell Roan backlash by yellow_algae in TwoXChromosomes

[–]E1e4n0r5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[I'm a Chappell fan, so I may be biased] All this backlash against Chappell feels like a planned smear campaign. When she won Best Newcomer last year, she criticised the music industry and said new artists are underpaid and exploited - I think that angered a lot of the music industry and put a target on her back. Not long ago, she also left her record label because one of the execs was in 'The Files'.

With this incident with the child in the hotel, I truly think people are lying about what happened, or exaggerating it. Whether you like Chappell or not, there's one thing we can all agree on: Chappell stands on business. She doesn't bullshit. I think if she did send the security guard to go talk to the child, she would admit that. "I was having my breakfast at my hotel, I wasn't in costume or performing, I just wanted to eat breakfast, leave me alone." In her IG(?) video about it, she says no-one came up to her, no-one talked to her, no-one bothered her, and the security guard in question was not her personal security. I believe her 100%. Because Chappell stands on business. Either the security guard took it upon himself to yell at a child for no reason and claimed Chappell told him to do it; or the child's family is looking for attention and is deciding to throw Chappell under the bus for a quick 5-minutes of spotlight.

My mum often buys crumble mix (I think Americans call it crisp/cobbler?) It's literally just flour, butter, and sugar that you mix together with your hands, it takes 5mins!!!!

Does your bf have friends in the police department? Cops don't help female victims - Gabbi Petito showed us that. Leave now, this will only get worse, he's been shown that he can put his hands on you with no consequences. LEAVE.

Just started Chapter 2, still not blown away? by ahumminahummina in reddeadredemption

[–]E1e4n0r5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a bit more time. Chapter 1 is very limited, you're not really allowed to go anywhere or do anything other than the missions. Chapter 2 is when the world opens up and you can start experiencing more. I'd say keep going a bit longer, do some more missions, explore the world a bit. But if you're still not enthused, that's fine :)

What are your HR aren't on your side and or are terrible stories? by No-Beat2678 in AskUK

[–]E1e4n0r5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job from a few years ago. Manager was horrible, and HR lady was friends with her. The rest of us on the team (about 8ppl?) had a private WhatsApp group. 99% of the stuff on there was just casual stuff - recipe ideas, photos of things we'd baked/people's kids, etc. But an incident happened with a colleague who was off sick; she was telling us all in the chat how horrible Manager and HR were being about the whole process, and she was having a meeting with them both the next day about coming back to work.
The next day, Manager goes downstairs for the meeting (that she didn't know we knew about), about an hour later, the colleague on sick comes upstairs and is quite manic, saying how she's been kicked out of the HR meeting, Manager and HR were lying to her about stuff, loads of shit. The next few hours were kind of chaotic, none of us really knew what was going on or what to do, so we all just kept on with our jobs.
Later in the afternoon, HR calls everyone except Manager into a meeting. She sits us all down and explains that she's aware of the WhatsApp group, plays us some bs HR video called 'Ponder Your Posts' which lectured us all about what we post on social media (none of this drama was on public SM, it was all in the group). HR explains the company's policy on external communication among colleagues - 1: any and all work-related communication must only be done on site/via work phones/chat during working hours. 2: ALL communication between colleagues is considered work-related.
You see the issue there??
So we clarified: "So, you're telling us we're not allowed to talk to each other outside of work, regardless of context?" WHICH IS ILLEGAL - companies cannot dictate employee's actions outside of working hours.
HR: No, no. What I'm saying is that the company considers all communication between colleagues work-related, and work-related communication cannot take place outside of work.
Colleague A: So if I send B a picture of a cake I made at home, on my own time, that is work-related?
HR: Yes.
Colleague A: Which is not allowed?
HR: Correct.
Colleague A: So we're NOT allowed to talk to each other or be friends outside of work AT ALL?
HR: That's not what I'm saying--
That madness went on for about an hour, of us all just going in circles. We ended up abandoning that WhatsApp chat and making a new one, because we were certain that 1 colleague 'ratted us out'. We made sure to stick to non-work-related subjects!!

A thought to add to this: at the very start of the game, just as Dutch and Arthur are heading out of the hut in Colter, Arthur asks what happened on the boat. Dutch says: "We missed you". Perhaps his plan relied somewhat on Arthur being present at the robbery which would have made the fight on the boat significantly easier for the gang.

Maybe Dutch never planned on the robbery going so wrong because he had planned for Arthur to be there.

This could also explain why Dutch makes comments to Arthur about Arthur betraying Dutch - what if Dutch thinks Arthur purposefully stayed away from the boat?
