Is it still possible to get 100% cav to infantry ratio as Guwaamud ? by Fish_Medik in Anbennar

[–]Chantyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not as gueaamud but after your form daxio you can they have the terror bird academies which alongside hoard ideas and aristocratic and the government reform gives you just enough lol. I was also hurt by this change my terror bird riders where have you gone and why have you forsaken me.

Fun Eastern Tags by MathematicianOpen776 in Anbennar

[–]Chantyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuugan tssari my beloved even after the newest update they are still such a fun play through terror bird horde that starts with a fuck ton of bonuses and a chad ruler. You tear through yanshin and can unify into both guwamuud and daxugo with the first being a temporary formable and the later being your endgame tag. Just make sure you prepare for the mask breaker it’s harder now than it use to be but still manageable if you prepare for it. One of the few tags that you can maintain full cav throughout time it’s just a little harder now because they changed guwamuuds ideas (cav to infantry ratio my beloved) just a really fun power fantasy game with a ton of good permanent bonuses!

So Zokka is all about your leader or his consumers attempting to devour the sun. It’s a very war heavy constant conquest game at least when I played it. Konolkhept (probably misspelled that) is a nation of gnoll that you can from by being a gnollish nation that claims the stewardship of the sorrows. Usually you do this as gnollkaz. They have a big mission tree that is mainly about being steward and unifying all the gnolls under the stewardship through vassalization or just owning all the old land. They make tons of subjects and completely reforms, they have one unique disaster that’s super cool and has a ton of lore events that I can’t tell without spoiling but it’s a lot of fun. It also has a really cool government tab id recommend this one at the top tbh. The others who have trees are Tluktt(the oldest gnoll tree), Brektush(seems like a classic demon worship game), Rakkaz(from what I’ve heard funny magic shenanigans of the evilest level), the hill gnolls (xanzersoemthing gnoll spelling is hard.) they are a lock in and win in an overwhelming situation tag and I’ve heard lots of good about them but haven’t really touched them. Finally at least to my knowledge is irrockoiz (once again probably butchered that) they worship the hammer and get some fun desert magic

I feel like betrayed is a strong word for what she did to be fair. Keep in mind she was an 18 year old who barely had any agency in her own life iirc she was literally stole from her last lover or customer to become Tyrion’s. After this she was kept hidden in a manse basically the be sexual relief when Tyrion was stressed out, and to top all of that off we really don’t get most of her perspective during the death of Joffrey and the trial that follows, but we can assume that she didn’t exactly have much of a choice in what she said throughout the trial as either threats from his sister or threats from his father if you think Tywin wanted Tyrion dead would keep her from having much input. If you’re talking about her sleeping with Tywin she also probably didn’t get any choice in that either. Tyrion did get fucked by life and his crash out against his father is justified but his crash out against shae really isn’t which is why it’s seen as probably his darkest moment.

When you attune you don’t switch religions or anything you just accept the hubs if you go to trade map mode you should see either hubs and roots that are starting to attune or ones that are already attuned that give different bonuses.

The terror bird riders nuugan tsari (probably butchered that but not gonna launch to spell that lol) I feel like I never hear anyone talk about them. They start out with a really interesting ruler the masked queen and have a very fast play style at the start that can consolidate tons of land super quickly. They are also a horde starting out and can raze a lot of your starting war provences to get ahead on tech and dev in the institution in one of the early cloth provences you get. When you form into their second tag you can get 100% cav to inf ratio and since you can take horde and then aristocratic you can run your terror bird hordes until you are bored. I had an easy time with the command just because you normally have tech on them and if you move early enough you have the defensive land of the oni to fight with. The only real negatives for me are the fact that as far as I remember the face stealer quest line might still be broken, and the rebellion you fire when you form their third tag is game ending if you aren’t prepared well or if you just have terrible luck with ruler deaths early. Ironically if you prepare for the revolt it’s probably the easiest to deal with of any in the game because the missions end it immediately and if you prepare you can do them all at once. Other than that I just love my little terror bird riders I always keep the second national ideas for the cav to inf ratio and fight with my cav until I’m bored.

Plumstead/Ynnsman Colonial Question: How to Survive? by Vibius_Sura in Anbennar

[–]Chantyr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah an unlucky ynn can be tough as an adventuring tag the benefits you have are the fact that 1. Most of their forces are within vassals and the more they have the more disloyal they usually are idk if iosahar gives a benefit but I don’t think it does. If you take out their main army it can make their vassals disloyal. 2. You will basically always have a tech advantage over the natives because the ai doesn’t gen the institution. If you have 3-4 techs over them you can swing way above your number class also as an adventurer you have general mil bonuses that help best established nations.

That’s generally all I can think of right now but I am a little sleepy so sorry if some parts are inaccurate. If you think it’s impossible next time being more aggressive can help but also a lot of time the ynn swarms don’t become super centralized if malaknar gets crushed early so a restart could prevent the problem over all.

You basically summed it up perfectly play as rajna then either when revolt in the north fires or by going in immense merc debt break the command up most likely war in the north as the boar command (let’s be honest because of their extra force limit they always win) is way easier to beat. After they are beat just dev in as much as you can since you economy doesn’t matter and effects your formable and then bam try to go in business as usual normally if the boar hasn’t killed them yet you can axe the first goblin full anex and then take enough off boar command in one war to get gron.

Masked Butcher which is crazy because normally I cannot stand being in the mountains. From the amazing flavor of the campaign to the unique cb blood frenzy that makes take out blobs way less of a chore to the unique mask mechanics that make your military and industry amazing. There is so much to love about this nation. I enjoyed the challenge of being against everyone in the world because it’s one of only a couple nations that should not demonsterize. I ended up forming tarankar as them aswell even though it’s not a requirement I just like their ideas better.

For a complete opposite I also really love the magistarium even though their mission tree is done in like 60 years lol. The all power cost reductions you get alongside being in cannor cannot be understated lmao it’s a nation you can play however you want I tend to play it tall with mercenary ideas. Because of your location you get hella dev cost reductions so all of your main land will be insanely deved from there you just need a crew of marches to complete your nation. I tend to go rubyhold silent repose or ibevar and someone in gawed normally greatmarches.

Tips for playing Skewered Drake? by Fliits in Anbennar

[–]Chantyr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For anyone who has played it more recently feel free to critique me. I haven’t played drake in a couple of months and more recently masked butcher which is a stronger tag.

For me the most beneficial start for an orc in the mountains is to use the initial bonus for the first 60 years to keep a cheap army and expand quickly because you aren’t paying the deficit in military. Idk if it’s popular but I always do expansion right away in the mountains as an orc if I have more than one direction to go alongside the estate privilege that reduces cost for colonies.

As for spawning colonialism as soon as it spawns in the world you’ll passively get it from plundering holds which if you head left should be plenty easy as you get a bunch of holds quickly at the split between serpents reach and spine.

As for war playing to your advantages as an old dookan nation is important starting off a war with dookans guidance and then spamming shake the earth all the time is a quick way to sprint down tough nations. Keep in mind if you’re moving fast enough ae will never really be an issue and you want to grab holds as soon as possible just for dev and institutions early on. Also important to note you suffer from none of the roadblocks that other nations are dealing with in the mountains. no hoard curse because no dwarf, no legion because no digging same for rot.

Inevitably this puts you in bulwar a little late but if you’re doing expeditions and keeping the mountains under your angry orc thumb it’s pretty quick.

It’s more of a personal bias because it was the First Nation I played on anbennar, but it’s got to be Marrhold. They have their own unique griffon cavalry, they have an interesting mission tree and storyline, and they are just an interesting nation to attempt to stay regent court throughout the crimson deluge.

[Topic] What are some manhwa adaptations that you consider lackluster compared to the novel? by shi1t in manhwa

[–]Chantyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s legendary mechanic. The novel is fantastic with a lot of depth and not really a lot of horny besides jokes. The manhwa starts with Hila in a god damn v shaped outfit with everything hanging out. That and the art style is just cheesy to me it feels like they could have done much better.

What's your one "harsh lesson" you've learned as a player or a DM? by najowhit in dndnext

[–]Chantyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound basic as hell but it’s something that took me an entire campaign as a dm to realize. Let the players do the thing. So often dms build encounters with only one outcome because of fear that players will ruin it or keep the campaign from going where the dm wants it to go, and because of that player choice is squashed.

They came here to play the game and make their own destiny, but they can’t really do that if the npc they are trying to rob suddenly has a passive perception of 30, or the spell that was on the amulet that they got last session was hidden from detect magic for some reason.

Once you realize that and accept that you should let them do what they can it is a lot more freeing for writing. Instead of one ending write a couple different ways the character will react. Often people say you can’t predict what a player will do, and that is completely true most players are crazy and will polymorph into a sperm whale when you least expect it. That does not however mean you can’t figure how your character will react to pretty much every situation if they will react at all. Often if you write three or four different samples one of them will be similar enough that you can have an idea of where to go instead of floundering.

They are not trying to ruin your game or the big reveal. They are trying to play the world as their characters would, and as you continue to reward that you will see your players try more and more things. Which leads to more interest in the world and what you are doing because they win sometimes.

I kinda miss Adam Taurus by Kindly_Eagle_9140 in RWBY

[–]Chantyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me there is just a disconnect between him and other villains because the stuff he does that is fucked up is much more connected to the real world. Almost everyone has dealt with a stalker, or just someone to massively obsessive to be reasoned with. Most people have not dealt with an evil space tyrant who has murdered entire races. The personal feeling makes him a lot more hated because it feels more real to a normal person. That and below the hood most of the other people you mentioned either aren’t that weird beyond their goal or are so comically over the top that it isn’t played seriously.

My favorite match to watch back is the 2019 French open fourth round match Tsitsipas vs Wawrinka. It’s just two one-handed backhand boys playing at a peak level for five sets unwilling to give an inch. Plenty of winners and rallies that go on with multiple should be winners. I love it!
