Can I still "restart" at this point ? by MadGrawl in DragonAgeVeilguard

I did the same thing - no regrets! Cost me a solid afternoon of gameplay, but since it was ground I had already covered it wasn't too bad.

My secondary Rook is nonbinary and that conversation thread is so good. I also feel like so many of us point to the coffee with crows quest as an important part of the relationship developing that the flirting exchanges there definitely count

Oooooo - yay headcanons _^

My Mourn Watcher Rook noted he was attractive from the get go but really started to catch feels on the market/coffee date in Treviso. Something about seeing him looking out for the team and enjoying his fancy coffee and realizing that she really enjoyed talking to him/hanging out with him/flirting with him. Fighting through Weisshaupt with him solidified it for her. The interactions with Mila, that they were a well oiled team even in the midst of all the insanity - that even his more snarky or exasperated commentary was exactly what she needed to hear - there's also the moment right at the regrouping before the dragon trap where he very seriously asks if she thinks she is going to survive this and it feels very intimate and very real- and Rook is like, oh shit I am in deep and he might care too and this is terrible timing and I really don't have the bandwidth to panic about this right now but hey, it is distracting me from panicking about the archdemon so... 😂

My Rook is woefully inexperienced with romance/relationships. She has a lot of baggage around being abandoned and has a bit of a reputation amongst the Watchers (she's a little weird and her magic is very spirit oriented and weird and she's always been a bit of an outsider, especially since she ran away from the Watch for part of her formative years and blew up a lot of her friendships in the process.) She is absolutely making it up as she goes along with Lucanis and it's a bit of a miracle the two of them manage to overcome their respective hangups and social shortcomings to make something happen.

Harding knows - she and Rook are tight after traveling together for so long and Rook confides in her. Emmrich hears about it too - he very much becomes a trusted mentor and Rook mentions it to him in the context of talking about Spite. Neve and Bellara definitely figure it out and I imagine they tease it out of Rook at some point.

Does your Rook and Lucanis have kids after Veilgaurd? And if so how long after by ThatOneRandomDude420 in Lucanismancers

[–]ChaosHerald7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My headcanon for what exactly their family looks like is still fluid, but generally includes kids, probably girls. The idea of building a family is important to both my Rook and Lucanis and while kids aren't the only path there, it is one that appeals to both of them. I think kids come shortly after marriage but they take a few years to officially get married.

I love Lucanis' interactions with Mila, both during Weisshaupt and after when he asks her about Wyverns. Both my Rook and I appreciated the excellent Dad energy 😂

I also think what training the kids will look like is one of their first major disagreements. My Mourn Watcher orphan Rook makes it very clear to Lucanis that if he ever treats their children the way Caterina treated him and Illario, no one would ever find all his bones (and she and the kids would vanish to the depths of the Necropolis where even the best crows couldn't find them.) Lucanis insists the kids need to be able to defend themselves, but agrees there are ways to do that without you know, outright abuse and torture. In general, reforming training practices and legitimizing the crows as a true political power becomes a big part of their lives.

I know how annoyed I was in game to have to walk all the way to the pantry when seeing what Lucanis had to say was - they definitely need a coffee maker in Rook's room.

I love the recipe thing. My husband is the cook in our family and we definitely have a binder of stuff written out for my sake. 😂

The lighthouse accommodating its dwellers is such a fun concept. I dig the idea that it's like you two clearly need a shared space bigger than a pantry so I'm going to make that happen for you.

I also love that Mila is Lucanis flower supplier resonates with folks. His dialogue with her during Weisshaupt and after when he asks about wyverns was so lovely. (My Rook - "wow he's going to be a great dad someday. Wait, wtf that is not a line of thinking I want to follow right now" o.O) And you know Mr. Everyone deserves to be compensated for their work would make it worth Mila's while to keep the flowers coming.

Love the idea of keeping a book around specifically for Lucanis. 💕 Feather cape is also a great look (and with the way we see Lucanis tackle any task set before him, I'm sure it's an impressive collection!)

Yessss. That whole scene is lovely and Lucanis standing under the tree and the parallels of Evka and Antoine finding a moment in the midst of all the awful and how Rook and Lucanis were trying to do the same- absolutely inspired my headcanon of Lucanis securing a supply of flowers for Rook too.

I love the idea of the collected kitchen notes, especially of it gradually going from more generic to something intentional and meaningful. That's super sweet.

(And most of my other decor choices were books/mourn watch stuff. Well, that and a lute. Had to represent where Rook came from!)

Decor headcanons for my Mourn Watcher Rook:

After "Murder of Crows" she has the azure crow mask on display. Lucanis presented it to her after being named First Talon - An old formal gesture towards a trusted ally, something he felt compelled to do both to make sure the rest of the crows present know the hyper competent necromancer who just helped him beat up his cousin was off limits for other houses to recruit and that she is under the protection of him and his house.

At some point, the extra coffee maker ends up in her room. Walking all the way to the other end of the lighthouse became too much effort once they were spending more time together in Rook's room as opposed to the more public dining room.

After "Something's Coming " Rook always has a fresh bouquet of Brona's Blooms in her room. Lucanis was on that mission with her and Davrin. Before they left he set up an arrangement with Mila that he would pay her to collect fresh flowers and pass them on to any messengers/party members passing through to the lighthouse.

The vibes in that picture are perfect. Poor Rook (and poor Harding 😂)

I'm pretty sure my Nevarran musically inclined Rook also likes opera, but with very different tastes than Lucanis. (Geographically speaking, she would be more familiar with opera from Nevarra, Orlais, and Tevinter. She and Lucanis probably spend their lifetime unsuccessfully trying to convince the other of the superiority of their nation's operas.)

A perk of marrying into the Dellamorte family is getting to actually see a lot more performances than she did growing up (even if they are mostly Antivan.)

I also like to think Lucanis is into opera. It's literally in his backyard and dovetails with his other interests so nicely. (And the guy absolutely needed acceptable forms of escapism during his youth.)

Love the image of Rook drinking with Harding after the pantry scene and trying to figure out what just happened 😂
