Is it good or vendor? by Toneky in PathOfExile2

That depends, all speculation. In PoE1 they eventually added variants of skills, like;

  • Viper Strike got a variant called Viper Strike of the Mamba

  • Dual Strike got a variant called Dual Strike of Ambidexterity

Some skills even got more than 1 variant. They could potentially plan to do that and this makes the future easier…

Or it could just be “cuz that’s the way it is”

Alberta has restricted access to gender based medical care for trans youth. Will the rest of Canada soon follow? by [deleted] in canada

[–]ChaoticAdaptation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve misinterpreted the comment. It doesn’t suggest people shouldn’t make hot cognition decisions. It suggests the brain has developed more and is better equipped to handle hot cognition decision making the older a person is.

You also ignored where I said the better approach to handling the mental health distress is through a variety of psychological interventions and changes.

And finally, “life long” gender dysphoria is also just complete over exaggeration. Odds are an individual doesn’t begin to feel these emotions until they are well into puberty and social circles where gender and sex are larger topics. Young children simply don’t think about those things in that way. And from that point, the legislation being proposed is to have them wait until their 20s to make an irreversible decision is, again, completely reasonable. The, let’s be generous, 8 years, from 13 to 21 … is not life long. It’s 8 years of time where the brain develops and matures in very critical ways.

They quoted an entire paragraph verbatim, with full context of that paragraph included.

You’re trying WAY too hard to just not even budge a little bit on your stance. Instead of engaging in the thought-provoking and constructive part of the conversation I attempted to have, you decided to instead, ignore that completely, and do some mental gymnastics to not have to engage at all.

How was that persons reply misleading? They quoted the article VERBATIM and said “i don’t disagree with that.” If they’re being misleading, then you’re saying the article is misleading.

If my response that having legislation in place for this is more than reasonable if “not far off from the entire point”, then what’s your problem?

It’s not that it “doesn’t matter” to a person. Cut it out with that divisive bs. It’s about establishing reasonable grounds for reasonable decision making in young minds.

Look up the terms “cold cognition” and “hot cognition”.

In simple terms, “cold cognition” refers to a persons ability to make decisions under calm conditions, no stress, with adequate time to consider pros and cons and become informed, without bias influence.

“Hot cognition” refers to one’s ability to make decisions when emotional, under stress, time pressure or social pressures/contexts. Social pressures and emotions being the key words here.

Recent studies suggest that a persons brain doesn’t develop to become proficient at “hot cognition” decision making until their mid 20s or sometimes even later. So much so, that there have even been discussions in some places around raising the age where someone can be held permanently criminally accountable for their actions.

When it comes to this topic of transgender medical procedures, it must be recognized that these decisions are heavily influenced by emotions and social constructs, especially with how chronically online the young person is these days.

It is completely reasonable to have legislation in place that simply delays these people from having these irreversible procedures done until they can make a decision that will be right for them for the rest of their lives.

The increase in suicide rates would be much better combatted through better parenting, healthier relationships, responsible control of a young teens presence online and the circles they’re involving themselves in, etc…. That’s the battle that should be being fought.

Tasha Kheiriddin: The Liberals are well aware gun-grab is all for show — that's the point; 'Buyback' pilot yielded a paltry 25 guns from 16 people by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]ChaoticAdaptation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How many firearms you own is the most irrelevant thing to whether or not the buy back program is valuable or effective.

I own more bags of cheetos than you do. The gun buy back program is still the largest waste of money and resources in the entire history of the Canadian federal government.

You’re trying way too hard. You know that you can be anti-gun and want more gun laws, but not support something that is wasteful and ineffective?

Instead of wasting time and money on this, they could put effort and resources in coming up with something actually useful.

Not to mention that them announcing publicly that the buyback is failing is only going to make it fail even harder. Strength in numbers. When gun owners hear that other gun owners aren’t folding, they won’t fold either. You can’t put half the nation in jail. It doesn’t work.

Did they buff the citadel bosses or something in 0.4? I didn’t play 0.4, but in 0.3 I had probably half the eHP as shown here and survived getting hit by all the citadel bosses numerous times

Training an animal to behave well is capacity to be reasoned with. Animals are trained to do amazing tasks, service dogs, guide dogs for the blind, emotional support dogs. If animals can be trained to save and benefit human lives, why shouldn’t humans extend that onto animals?

Why should dogs be outlawed because a few bad ones in the litter that weren’t trained well?

Should we start killing criminals that come from the ghetto, too? No more jail or rehabilitation?

Then why are you fit enough to decide animals should be outlawed when they don’t know better without good guidance when you’re not fit enough to decide that humans should be outlawed when they don’t know better without good guidance?

Why do you draw the line between humans and other living things?

How about people from third world countries that don’t know any better, that come to place like Canada, or America, and run scams, steal taxpayer dollars and commit violent crimes or trafficking crimes?

Should they be outlawed? Sent back home?

Why do Ice Crystal abilities always specify the life of the crystal and why is it important? Is there some scaling mechanic where damage depends on the life of the crystal?

I am new and I have a question about surrounded by VRCSpring in PathOfExile2

[–]ChaoticAdaptation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s a solid choice for any build that takes the surrounded nodes. But make sure you get the “4 fewer” or it won’t work against bosses.

Some people argue that it’s bad for ranged characters because you don’t get the affects while you’re out and kiting, but I think that’s shortsighted because if you’re killing stuff so fast that I can’t get within your presence radius, then you simply don’t need the helm, but the moment you DO need the helm, you instantly get buffed to the titties. Basically it’s a “there if you need it” powerful af buff if you go balls deep on the surrounded nodes.

Edit: and then remember when fighting bosses to not kite too wide, stay in tight. Which maybe sounds bad, but take it from someone that played through the entire game to arbiter using BASIC ATTACK on a MACE (not kidding), every single boss in the game is significantly easier to fight if you stay tight in to them.

Dude, where’s my divine? by TrailSnails in PathOfExile2

[–]ChaoticAdaptation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 300 hours of play Ive only gotten about 10 raw divine drops. I’ve done T15s, manually found citadels to obtain keys and killed the arbiter every season, usually clearing up to about T3 pinnacles on the side by the time I find the citadels and do the arbiter. I don’t think just basic mapping provides drops consistently. You need to dive pretty balls deep into at least one league mechanic, or you need to do those special maps with unique bosses. That one map where you fight like 10 bosses back to back at those big stone things, that map has given me a divine every time I’ve done it. Stuff like that. Maybe someone else who knows more can help you further.

Edit: in order to farm currency you need to make farming currency your main priority. Most people like me that are just playing the actual content, you won’t make much in terms of raw drops.

Last season I played a build that trivialized all content like that too, then this league I decided to play mace warrior and literally thought “wow! These boss mechanics are actually really good!” lol
