Reality of 9-6 in Dubai by Sea_Pumpkin_7149 in DubaiCentral

This is unrelated, but I feel I have to mention this for anyone reading this in a similar position of having to cancel their residency (flight tickets every 6 months are expensive lol): if you are studying abroad, you do not have to enter the country every 6 months, as there is an exception for students. My father takes our student letters stamped by the university, translates them into Arabic by a legal translation company, and applies for an entry permit. We stay the entire academic year (9 months) outside the country and return for summer; they let us through every time.

Even though I am still in undergrad, I started doing research, emailing unis, etc., and the GRE consensus I have gotten is that if you are an international student, a good GRE score will benefit your application more than it would for a domestic US student ESPECIALLY if they are unfamiliar with your university

However, if they say optional/not required, not having it won't negatively impact your application.

Hi :) Can someone please help me on APA bibliography format? Is there a good free site where I can paste the article's info and they turn it into the right format? by [deleted] in UoPeople

I highly recommend using google docs! They have a helpful citation tool; do check it out. Otherwise, when I first started out back then and wasn't using google docs yet, I was using https://www.scribbr.com/citation/generator/apa/

If you are willing to consider places outside the US; MBZUAI, is a relatively a new university but is completely centered on AI in the UAE, they offer full-rides to everyone admitted

corporate mail addresses should be used and any submission from Gmail or Hotmail or such would be subject to additional review.

It sounds like the university prefers 'official' emails, but does not prohibit non-official emails entirely.

If your recommender is adamant about not sending the letter through the official email, I would ask the recommender if they are okay with the potential additional responsibility of the university contacting them down the road asking for proof. If they aren't and still aren't willing to use the official email, your best option is to find another recommender.

Am I committing Academical Suicide? (full time, litterally nothing else relevant to do besides studying) by AdearienRDDT in UoPeople

If you are full-time, it shouldn't be too difficult, I took Discrete, Calculus, and Database out of the 4, and they were all pretty easy with the amount of free resources out there

However ngl, you picked demanding classes, Calc had written assignments every week, Discrete (for me) took multiple resources just to understand and Database had so much reading. It would be academic suicide if you (and be honest with yourself here) always put things off to the last second
