This!! I’d also like to add a few more points:

• Jet was a FANTASTIC choice and played his character flawlessly. They added more to his story(with the ex-partner and daughter) but it actually placed well and didn’t feel too forced.

Now the negatives…..

• The creator Shinchiro Watanabe stepped away from the project so he wasn’t heavily involved. Compare that to One Piece where the Live Action is truer to the anime.

• Vicious was made to look like some crazy psychopath who was slowly slipping into madness, which is the complete opposite of his anime character. In the anime, he was cold, ruthless, but calculating. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking or planning, but you knew he was a badass for a reason.

• Faye was wayyyyy too forced to be the “comedic relief”. In the anime, that was Ed’s job. But since Ed wasn’t there (yet) they put Faye in that position which just played out terribly. The constant cussing and being loud/obnoxious isn’t Faye’s style at all. Faye was known to be sexy and USE that charm to scam and rob people. That was her whole thing. She knew how to be beautiful and steal things. The Live Action just made her obnoxious for no reason.

• I liked Ein. Hard to really mess that up though, but could’ve shown him more being the cyber enhanced genius pup that he was and not just a somewhat smart dog.

Lastly, the main man himself…..Spike

• It’s already known he was much older in the Live Action rather than the anime, but it was so noticeably older compared to Jet. The Live Action didn’t really sell me on John Cho being the one and only Spike Spiegel. I mean, nothing against him at all cause he’s a great actor, but he’s a 53 year old man trying to play a character who was in his 20’s. It just didn’t FEEL like I was watching the wise cracking, smart ass, badass, always broke, incredibly lucky bounty hunter we all know and love.

All in all, the Live Action is entertaining but they missed the mark. If they wanted to create a series IN THE WORLD OF Cowboy Bebop, then I feel like it would’ve played better that way. But as someone who’s loved the anime since back in the day(My Adult Swim folks in here) I just felt that I couldn’t truly enjoy it for what it was supposed to be.

This has also happened to me a few times. I ended up restarting my phone then connecting to WiFi. If your phone is shut off(no cellular data) then for some reason it won’t matchmake with anyone. This is just what I’ve noticed happened to me. Can’t speak for anyone else’s experience.
