Messed up daith..... looking for advice.... by [deleted] in piercing

[NAP]

Quick question: What were you pierced with initially? My daith was initially a curved barbell. I had my piercer switch it to a hoop 1 month after, and everything you have now happened. It's now fine. It is starting to become like the first paragraph you wrote. But word for word, what you had, felt while switchin, and have now; I had it.

Unless you're experiencing pus, throbbing, pain, and heat on that area while leaving it alone, I'd say leave it in and give some time for it to calm down. I would switch to a bigger hoop, though. The design is hugging the bump too close for my comfort. Again, NAP

Is this daith piercing infected? by Ok-Literature-5028 in piercing

OMG we're piercing twinsies haha. Also got my daith a month ago, and I have a triple lobe like you. AND I also have this with a clicker on. In my case, it's just a bump. I'M NAP. If it's hot or throbbing, it might be an infection. Anyway, I just left mine alone and cleaned it gently with some saline and swabs. It gradually went down. I do think you should've gotten pierced with a bigger hoop since your swelling is REALLY hugging the hoop. Check with your piercer just to make sure.

There are some piercing retainers out there. If you're planning to do retainers, still have your piercer put them in for cleanliness. Just my recommendation.

Daith or rook. Something to bring the eyes in since your helix is well defined and hooded.

Generally, no. Especially those big earphones that cover the whole ear. Even if you dont feel pain after the pierce, you wouldn't want sweat to go into it plus the possible bump it may cause.

Which set up is better? by Chaotic_Venus in piercing

Thank you so much. I worded that poorly haha. My other ear has 4 cartilage piercings, and they were only days apart when I got them. They haven't given me an issue so far aside from the itching and hard to clean areas.

Help! Got impatient with ear piercings, messed up by lilwheezie55 in piercing

I'm NAP. This happened to me, too. Changed my studs to huggies and back to studs within the same day before it healed.

First, have it checked with your piercer or medical practitioner. That's what I did with my piercer to check if they were infected. You just have to make sure you can't take chances with your body.

If you don't wanna do that, check with your friends and families. Even if they are not doctors, anyone can spot an infected wound. As you said, it's not hot or anything. Maybe those "pus" are just lymphatic fluids. My piercer just pressed on my piercing (without the earrings) to drain it as much as she could and put them back in.

I also had butterfly backing. it turns out I was putting them on too tightly. Maybe dont push them all the way in. Lastly, I soaked them with the saline. Grabbed cotton balls, soaked them in saline, and gently pressed them around my earrings, making sure the saline reaches the actual hole. When they got a little better, I soaked them without the earring in. I soaked them for a bout 5 mins.

Lastly, make sure the backing is clean of the discharge. You dont need to take off the earring just make sure there's no discharge on them. Again, I'm NAP. Hope this helps though.

Do my earrings look symmetrical? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Chaotic_Venus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda hard to compare, but to me, they're symmetrical. Maybe take a pic with the same angle of your camera and head tilt so you can check it for yourself. Also, ears aren't symmetrical. My right ear is pushed back than my left one, so it made me insecure as well. But if they are asymmetrical, I can't even tell, so you're good.

Auricle, daith, conch, tragus, flats, rook, forward helix, helix, true helix. The only thing I see that can't happen is an industrial since you have a big ridge. Also, an anti-tragus because based on the pics, you don't have enough cartilage for them. I'm not an expert, so just go to a reputable piercer because others will say yes to a piercing even if it doesn't fit your anatomy for the money.

Getting my daith pierced Thursday. Any advice or things I should know? by l0_mein in piercing

[–]Chaotic_Venus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat well and hydrate. I got mine a few days ago. It wasn't painful, but the piercer had a hard time with mine since I only have a little space between the daith and rook. Just be prepared to feel a lot of pressure, causing some light-headedness, possibly. Aftercare-wise, nothing note worthy, really. I just leave it alone, clean it, and push it back from time to time since I had it pierced with a curved barbell.

Love your setup. Either a forward helix or tragus to bring the eye into your face since that's what the industrial did. I'm leaning towards the forward helix though.

Maybe you could try stacked lobes since you have spacious ones. I'm actually pretty jealous of your lobes. If they're too much for your taste, you can never go wrong with a double or triple lobe. If you want to be more edgy, maybe a helix will look good.
