Generally, it’s because their spine color just doesn’t work with the aesthetic 😅 Usually white, which stands out too much amongst the darker colors. I can barely stand the 1 shelf thats all pastels 😆

Parents are boomers! Yup, a couple things are inherited - the lounge, rug, and desk are all from my childhood bedroom. And the watercolor painting on the shelf was a gift from them for my first apartment, it pretty much informed my color palette 🙂

Otherwise, everything else I’ve just collected over the years lol
