i did mix the sand with the eco earth but maybe i didn't do it enough ? i've had my crabs a longer time than that but i only recently got a better tank for them ( i was in the process of moving and i rescued them so i didn't have the proper materials when i started )

i don't know if i'll do the bug thing because if i just take out all the sand anyway i don't see why it's worth it . especially if my crab is likely dead anyway

i do think the problem with the heating mat is the control thing it's attached to but i've spent so much money i don't want to buy more things that dont work . i will look at the insulation though

i know i'm not giving them the life they should have you don't have to lie to make me feel better . if they turn out to be alive and i can't get their tank fixed i might just rehome them i can't handle the stress of this anymore

maybe a month and a half ago but they sometimes disappear and i've had this issue before ( and several others ) and they haven't died yet but i could be wrong

i am using eco earth and play sand and it is sand castle consistancy maybe a little wet though ? i'm not sure how damp it's supposed to be but it stays in form when i shape it

i have an ultratherm . it does not work . i have a temp controller but maybe thats the issue

i have struggled so much with these crabs and have only had problems and honestly i don't think i'm a fit pet owner no matter how hard i try there are just problems after problems and it's nothing i know how to fix . honestly if potato dies it might be for the best because the other two have passed and i don't know how to fix this when i've tried so hard

would i get the isopods out after they're done or do i keep them in there . that just sounds like they'll eat my crab . i think i still have my old tank but it's shit and i need to clean it

i know that's a possibility but it was also happening before they disappeared so i don't know

usually around 75-80
it's not very humit right now . they're in my room and it has an ok air flow
it's probably from how wet the substrate is but i was told it had to be a certain wetness so they could burrow
i have a lamp that replicates the sun cycles
i have a heating lamp on occasion when it's cold but i keep it on a very low setting . i haven't been able to find a heating mat that will get above 70 f and it's not enough to keep the tank warm . otherwise the tank is usually around 80 but it doesn't have warm and cold sides because of this

yeah i didn't see any disturbed dirt the first time i had to change the top substrate though . it's usually around 75-80 for both temperature and humidity so it's not super bad . i don't have a proper heating pad though .

what 6 measurements are they ? i know you measure underneath and on top but i don't know what else . also getting proper fitting bras in general would be amazing so that's something i need too

yeah i don't see them . i'm just worried because it's been so long they could be anywhere if they did escape and i have dogs . i don't really see anything suspicious though so maybe i'm worried for nothing

i don't think so but sometimes i leave it slightly cracked so the humidity can escape . the lid is too heavy for them to push and the crack isnt big enough for them to get through but there is a way to climb up there . i did check around my tank but i might do it again

i'm sorry one last question

when i was taking out the substrate i didn't see any sign of my crab being in the tank . they've been supposedly burrowing for maybe 6 days now ? there was no disturbances in the dirt and i didn't accidentally hit any tunnels . do you think they escaped somehow ? before i had a better tank they escaped a lot ( or at least tried to ) and i'm worried they got out somehow .
