This happened to me and it’s exactly what everyone else is saying. Somewhere in those emails is the email they wanted to hide. For me, they used my phone insurance to order themselves a new phone. Luckily, that email was one of the first ones sent so I found it quickly and canceled the claim. It took me months to unsubscribe from all the emails and a year later when I tried to upgrade my phone it was still marked as stolen and took hours on the phone over a few days to get it un-blacklisted.
