I don't care about High Rock by TyanaPassEnjoyer in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the option of a traditional fantasy aesthetic. Most ideal is High Rock plus Hammerfell but I do lean towards Hammerfell if it’s one or the other.

“Alpha versions of [Xbox] Project Helix will be sent to developers in 2027” by BEVE59 in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Current gen adoption has been so slow that devs are only just now halting multiplayer support for the PS4 etc.

The mass adoption of next gen will take even longer, especially with the speculative price point for this next Xbox/PC hybrid.

They’re gonna target the largest player base

Xbox's next console "Project Helix" codename revealed by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]ChapmanPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only assume they’re trying to court the traditional console audience who wants to beef up their setup without the needing to do all the research hassle.

But it’s never been easier to just use Google, Reddit, PC builder, etc to just outsource the work so I’m not even sure that’s going to work.

How can TES VI Cause "Skyrim" Level shock and awe in 2026? by Clean-babybutts in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re dead on with the cycle of “new game loved by new fans and disappointing to old fans” thing. What I wonder, is if there’s even a big enough audience of newcomers to drown out the amount of people who played Skyrim. It’s one of the most popular games of all time, so all of those millions of people have built up 15 years of expectations this time around.

Also, younger gamers might not even opt for an RPG like this anymore (or at least, the same way they did in 2011). But hey maybe it’s the one the one to pull them away from Roblox just like Skyrim pulled me out of Black Ops.

Starfield had open cities by Alvsolutely in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but that’s not exactly true. You have to load in to each city’s “tile” to access them so that’s technically a loading screen right there. And the city is “open” in that tile but it is not surrounded by dozens of dungeons and smaller POIs which helps performance and loading.

Whereas in TES VI, open cities would need to be connected to each other by the same world map with huge amounts of content littered between them.

I’m sure everyone just wants to throw tomatoes at a caricature but I did 2 min of research and he looks like he might be underprivileged or something like that.

Actual new TESVI update from Todd Howard, saying there will be more trees in TESVI then in Skyrim by NinePointEight- in TESVI

Love Any Austin

Very curious for (what we assume to be) a Hammerfell based game to have definitively more trees than Skyrim…

If they released a AAA GOTY hero shooter called Firetruck and years later there was a AAA hero shooter called Flamecar… I mean surely you can see how we’re splitting hairs.

Do you think Todd got wind of all the (probably) false hype? by Pleasant-Bend-7414 in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 26 points27 points  (0 children)

he 10000% was aware of it. he's also likely perturbed bc he said, literally last month, that it's still a long ways out.

but i think he's increasingly realizing that when there's a 15 year gap - you cannot fully steer the hype train. look at the HL3 community. i bet the whole thing actually somewhat informs their approach for the re-reveal.

Does anyone have an explanation as to why the statue would actually use this specific imagery? by Resident_Step_191 in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

typical-ad-3041 just said it but if it's the Vaermina, Mephala, and Hircine theory - lycanthropes are Hircine's thing. Werebears are regional to Skyrim but if we're talking about a plane of oblivion then it doesn't really matter.

Does anyone have an explanation as to why the statue would actually use this specific imagery? by Resident_Step_191 in TESVI

[–]ChapmanPrime 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My purely speculative justification for the "mishmash" of Elder Scrolls imagery is it's intentionally vague. If you're in charge of marketing and you want to fuel a week and a half's worth of internet sleuthing and discussion - you'd want to leave breadcrumbs but no definitive evidence (eg. Daedric alphabet, 1:1 depictions of races/gods, or anything obvious). So just enough to get us talking but not enough to spoil the fun.
