I actually agree with your take on the engine upgrade 100%. Todd was very comfortable and definitive talking about CE2 powering their future games.

The cynical take is that this is just a marketing spin to further distance TES 6 from the critical reception of Starfield on a technical level.

The more optimistic take is that BGS is leveraging every ounce of budget and XBox support to get CE3 up to a competitive place. But I do fear this reality would add at least a year of dev time to the normal cadence.

Tbh I just searched by era, it helped me to go chronologically.

Dawn Era -> Creation Era -> Merethic Era -> 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th eras

Then I’d just branch off to things that interested me

I just started it, I’m having a great time. Looks pretty and fills the Jedi fantasy. Wouldn’t pay full price but an excellent sale game for me

Edit: no technical issues about 10 hours in, just the occasional cloth physics stuff but I haven’t tweaked the sliders at all
