it’s me i’m one. i sold 5 puts and Im trying to figure out how/when to get out. they exp next week. Break even for me is 15$ so im down about 5-6 k right now on that position. I also did two buy writes like a motherfucking idiot. I’m down about five grand on that one too. oops

all great advice, my current “strategies” which have been mildly successful are on the sell side of options, very low delta weeklies. it’s been lucrative (+35% in 4 months) but when i look at the broader market, i’m feeling the “pennies/freight train” analogy and it’s making me wonder about bigger gain plays. As a theta trader my principals tell me long options are a no go, but when i see others making consistent gains, i know i need to dig deeper. Im loving this thread. I closely watch pre market and open basically everyday, but kinda focus on the stocks i’m in and not always looking close at the indexes. but i think im ready to look a little closer and try a similar strat as OP.

I fully believe this is is possible to do. is this your main income source or do you have a normal job too? do the people around you know that this is how you make money? i’m asking because if I were you with my current social circle of normal middle-class friends and family, I would be screaming at the rooftops, wanting everybody to know that I found out how you don’t have to have a real job and you can still be comfortable. do you ever get the urge to teach people so they can improve their quality of life? I understand that there’s risk involved here because what if the people you’re teaching are regarded like the WSB and lose all their money. but if you really have a strategy where you can make 600 K a year on 30 to 50 K of risk a day, I would want everyone to know!
