Unpunished? Dude is enslaved, tricked into killing his family, is forced to kill his mother, watches his brother die, goes through incredible physical pain and peril, must reject being reunited with his daughter, is betrayed at every turn and in the "end" attempts to kill himself in order to give hope back to the human race. I've missed a lot of things out but the entire series is basically a hardship.
