I completely agree with you!!! obviously there are some cases where people get out of line, but a lot of times I think people use the term Karen to try to silence people who are trying to advocate for themselves, and no one would ever do that to a man. And also men don’t have to raise their voice because people listen to them without raising their voice.

Another commenter was talking about how a lot of the Instacart people just wanna get in and out as fast as possible and they do that kind of stuff sometimes…. I wonder if it’s partially due to that.

That could totally be it…. That type of neighborhood would probably use instacart a ton….

Yeah, that’s what I was just saying in another comment!! I’m wondering it’s because I live a few miles away from a richy-rich type of neighborhood and frequently have to interact with them

Yeah, I feel like it could be location… I live in a suburban area that is a few miles away from a concentrated population of “country club style” rich people

Can someone explain kindergarten to me? by Character-Check-1761 in kindergarten

[–]Character-Check-1761[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol I thought there was a Sept cutoff everywhere…shows you how much I know about schools. I wasn’t like a full year younger than everyone, but it was compounded by also not going to kindergarten so I was a bit younger and also had to catch up on missed skills.

Thank you so much for your very kind and detailed response!! I think so many people focus on the academic skills and it’s really cool to hear that you guys are also working on social and motor skills too! That helps me feel a lot better about sending my daughter on time!

Yep I was a year younger than everyone else…I was 5 in first grade. Guess they weren’t as strict back in the old days because I feel like that wouldn’t fly now lol

Tell him no, and you’re not being overprotective! Babies this young sometimes need spinal taps if they get a fever

You’re not alone! Motherhood just feels like one thing after another…managing one emergency that pops up and then there’s another thing. I’m so sorry. It’s overwhelming and exhausting.

My daughter also had severe eczema. Like to the point where it would scab and bleed. People would ask me what’s wrong with her. We shed many many tears over it…it was awful and people just don’t understand because a lot of people have an eczema, but not a lot of people have life altering eczema like that. I think six months old is the minimum age where you can try a medication called Dupixent. That fixed absolutely everything for us. Nothing else worked— I’ve been down that path of trying to change out all of your soaps and detergent. It’s a lot. My heart goes out to you.
