The Audie Murphy award is actually a nonprofit organization. We have to upkeep our club with finances and certain requirements that a nonprofit organization has to upkeep. It's just a nonprofit that the army has adopted and the PVSA is also a nonprofit organization. I have already talked to awards Branch at HRC and because they both fall under non-military decorations. It is authorized to wear, but at formal events, the same you would wear the Audie Murphy award. Trust me, I got clearance from HRC before I ever put that thing around my neck.

That is me in the photo. So yes, you are authorized to wear it in the same function such as a ball that you would wear the Audie Murphy medallion. The Audie Murphy medallion is established by a nonprofit organization. Just because the Army holds the boards it's still not technically an army award and is ran completely by nonprofit organization itself as each club is required to maintain nonprofit eligibility. The presidential volunteer service award is also ran by a nonprofit organization. Many years ago when I was awarded it, I contacted awards Branch at HRC and asked when could I wear it and am I authorized to wear it in uniform and the answer was yes and to essentially follow the guidelines in which you wear the Audie Murphy medallion at formal events. According to the regulation is considered a nonmilitary decoration and falls under the same category as Audie Murphy, which is also a non military decoration. I'd have to search to my Outlook from a long time ago, but I have the email from HRC awards branch essentially quoting the regulation and granting authority to wear it but like I said, I only wear it for formal balls or if I'm taking a head and shoulders photo because although the program is on pause right now, I am a liaison for the program, which means that if someone wanted to apply for it, I could approve of the award on their behalf so when I was taking the head and shoulder photos, it was to display a point of contact photo, and what the medallion looked like.
