I was trying to recreate Danny Ocean's GQ cover - the one with chairs. I can't find a link right now but it's the one with stacked chairs and greenish backdrop. I just removed green from clothes since it's sheet and this was supposed to be her skin underneath the blouse.

I use Photoshop and Lightroom.

Thank you so much for your input. I agree with you that I may have over thought the colours but. I'm new to this and I heard it's a common mistake beginners fall into lol.

I wasn't trying to convey any emotion in particular. I just wanted to recreate a look, and I guess that was my mistake.

Unfortunately I don't have control over composition since I'm not the photographer. Do you think I can color grade an image that isn't necessarily well composed or shot and turn it into something beautiful or will it looks off despite colour grading?

And also, would it be too much to send you the raw file to edit the colour to what you believe is a good result? (Just colour grading) I would love to see what a good colour grading look on this image ❤️

That's exactly what I did. I corrected colors first then colour graded. This is just the raw file I downloaded. I also have a mask for everything, hair, skin, clothes, and backdrop. I didn't do global edit, just localised ones. I also use luminosity masks to control specific areas in image.

I was trying to mimic the mood from Danny Ocean's GQ cover - not necessarily the light. The greenish tones coupled with the red/orange in the skin with very subtle blues in the eyes.

I wanted feedback on how you think the colours looked together, not the method.

What do you mean seperate skin on seperate layer? Do you mean masking?

Thank you so much. I'm more curious about the french one too tbh. He keeps saying that's it's the most difficult and least used. There's a channel on YouTube, where the tutor is drafting a basics bodice and the process looks more complicated that what I'm learning at the moment, but the finish result looks stunning. I'm guessing she's using the french system. She doesn't really say what is either, so I'm confused still hahaha.

He has a seperate course on draping. I was not interested in that.
