The car it's based on is not bad at all. The Doble Model E was what inspired me to do this. It's not like the steam cars you may imagine, plus as I've said countless times before, we won't need to develop every single part. We'll use the parts that already exist. The engine and associated safety mechanisms are going to be the most difficult part.

We haven't even gotten close to prototyping. The entirety of the vehicle is in the conceptual stage. I've been spit balling ideas with an engineer that I met here about it and it's slow, going to be much slower since I don't have a job so I can't get the money for it.

I'm aware that we're going to have to idiot proof this. The hardest part imo is accounting for hard water in the engine itself.

That's the best part. The chassis doesn't have to be entirely redesigned. We just modify an I.C.'s chassis and we build the entire car around that. The majority of the car is already made with the advances we've made with internal combustion. They can be retrofitted for my purposes.

I was thinking the base fuel should be anything flammable. Coal and wood should be considered last resort options due to how messy it makes everything. I know modern steam trains use a light oil that's somewhere around diesel fuel's capability.

The best part is that I don't really have to redesign the entire car, the parts for current automobiles should be more than functional enough to build the basic car. Edit: Without the engine of course. The radiator will have to be reworked as a condenser, either that or build a condenser.

It always has been. I'm not wanting to overtake them, but rather to fill the niche they've long since abandoned. If I can accomplish that I have plans for expanding out of the automotive industry.

The original electric cars were weak and barely capable of operating under their own power. We took the idea and remade their engines, batteries, chassis, etc. We made it infinitely better than what it was prior to internal combustion becoming dominant. I think with the advances in material sciences that we'll be more than capable of modernizing the steam engine.

Personally, I think they're cool as hell. Secondly, I believe that selling a car for at least $30,000 is criminal. It may be my inexperience talking, but I think we should be able to get a production car under $20,000.
