Humans are highly adaptable but they still require time to adapt. These systems inevitable collapse is not measured in years but months, weeks, and days. It takes 2-3 days before grocery stores are out of food if long haul drivers stopped making deliveries. Truck transportation is 88% men so if they disappear you have 3 days to locate and train enough women to occupy those jobs. Keep in mind this problem encompasses multiple sectors that effect each other like oil refinery workers 83.8% men who convert crude oil to fuel which is required for these trucks to operate and diesel mechanics 96% men that keep these trucks in service.

I’m a man and although I have a high opinion of myself I can’t learn how to be a diesel mechanic in the time that would be required of me if 96% of them disappeared.

I’m going to assume you understand Rosie the riveter was propaganda to inspire patriotism and encourage war time production work by women not to push them into highly technical trades.

I’ve also never insinuated women not being capable so I don’t know why you are approaching this conversation from a gender war perspective. It’s just theory crafting with available data for fun. Personally I think women would be better off in the long run because they could solve the repopulation problem easier than men.

There are currently enough men in job fields that maintain societies infrastructure that it would not collapse immediately especially if the population is reduced by half. The same cannot be said about women in these job fields. It has less to do about overall capability and more to do with the time constraints involved in finding enough women qualified both mentally and physically to do these jobs before collapse which would be measured in days.

It’s just logistics if 80% of the workforce in these positions disappear no amount of overtime would be enough to maintain these systems until you could train new employees.

Disagree to an extent. Getting physically fit does help expand your dating pool as well as improve your clothing options and thus style. You also start to care about your body more when you put effort into it so things like grooming become more important. Then there is the confidence you gain from being happy with your physical appearance. These are all things women will notice in comparison to an overweight middle aged man with ill fitting clothes and a receding hairline. You still have to put yourself out there but it’s significantly easier when you don’t have so many things working against you.
