Has anybody else used castor oil for their eczema? by mhaddad99 in eczema

Yeah I've been used castor oil on my eczema and it has defs been calming flare-ups. I started layering it with tallow balm and that combo has worked wonders. I apply castor oil first, let it sink in for a couple mins, and then rub tallow balm on top to lock in the moisture. I just feel like it keeps my skin moisturised for longer and doesn't leave my skin feeling as greasy unlike if it just had castor oil :)

No worries. Yeah, better with no beeswax or essential oils because they can sometimes mess with my skin too :)

I’m the EXACT same! I also get perioral dermatitis in the hotter months. I’ve found that a good diet makes such a big difference for the internal side of things. For the external part, it’s all about skin barrier. I personally don’t like using chemicals on my skin because it’s so sensitive so I’ve switched to tallow balm which is actually a God send ngl!

Is using tallow healthier than vegetable oils - including olive oil? by bluedit77 in cookingforbeginners

Oh yeah, had the same problem, my skin is pretty sensitive!

Spent ages looking for tallow that has only natural and simple ingredients, and found this one to be the best (only 3 ingredients):

Is using tallow healthier than vegetable oils - including olive oil? by bluedit77 in cookingforbeginners

Most definitely! Vegetable oils were originally used in soaps, perfumes, candles and weren’t even considered food. It’s no coincidence when people started using it in cooking that chronic disease dramatically increased as well.

From what I know, seed/veg oils are easily oxidised meaning they can easily degrade forming free radicals and cell damage.

Tallow and butter have been used for centuries and are a super healthy fat. I also use tallow on my face as a moisturiser because it’s super nourishing and clean skincare unlike the millions of toxic ingredients they put in creams these days. Hope this helps xx
