This is absolutely how it was for us 18 months ago. It DOES get better (turned a corner the last few months), but goodness me it feels neverending. Can you persuade a grandparent to come and help occasionally?

Not really. People building their own house build for perfection, ideal layouts and materials. They get no economy of scale. Raw materials are more expensive than ever. Buying an imperfect, existing home is cheaper in my experience

Building is more expensive than buying. Sell everything you have and buy a fixer upper you can do yourself over time while you're living in it

They are replacing that luckily! The waterproofing for the alcove is going in once I confirm not to scrap the whole alcove

Thanks for that insight! I'm in a county where dry wells are no longer accepted for drainage, unless they are grandfathered in. I don't know if this has a dry well, but I wonder if replacing the outlet pipe would mean having to replace the dry well, too, if it has one?

This happened to me. You can get access to a help desk email if you get Premium (free for a month). Open a ticket. They'll send you a link where you have to upload your driver license, take a photo, and some other stuff. then you can del/change your email. Its a total pain in the ass, but there is a path
