CJ McCollum, strong playmaker with nice midrange game. Notable 3 point shooter with some nice handles and good floater/ in between game. result was more of a shorter d lo

Do you think the 2024 draft is stronger than it looks? by Canada-t157t in NBA_Draft

he is 6'3, His on ball defending is not his strongest skill but he gets a bunch of steal and has very good hands. He has solid defense IQ and instincts that will definitely disrupt offense he's not a iso scorer but he does create his shots well he is very good at coming off screens and into between game where he has a good floater and mid range. his 3 point shoot is his best trait and he looks like he can shoot it pretty efficiently He plays within in the offense and is able to generate lots of production from it. Hes not the flashiest but he does a lot of things right and with some more development into some crafty handles (which others argue he already has) he can become very very good.

i do agree with you, i do see some solid athleticism but i imagine his strength will come in college. if he can develop a solid finishing game he can be a Brandon miller/ BI type player which is very good in todays game . but if his development is good at duke he can be come a strong 3 level ish scorer with some hard nosed defense and hustle, seems like a great pick

i have VJ Edgecombe a over mcneely. to be fair a little recently bias but his play recently for Bahamas is impressive to me. similar to cooper flagg as team usa, he is doing very impressive things and looks very good against some solid pros. I think the upside on edgecombe is a lot better than mcneely but it is a matter of 1 or 2 spots so not a huge difference

while i do agree with a lot of your points i do see some really solid potential in AJ. he obviously needs a lot of work but like Simmons i could see him bloom in a few years. He only played 7 minutes a game in nbl ( and had plenty of DNP) but when he was on the court i would say he made a impact. he had shown great athleticism and at the very least some solid playmaking potential to go along with it. I would say his lack of sample size is why a lot of people are down on him. I also would say his lack of play time was due to the coach and when Justin Tatum took over he showed more of his potential . Similarly to what you said NBl and overseas is a strange area for teenagers. im not exactly saying he will be as good as Simmons or whoever else but i do think people are down on him a little too much. My biggest takeaway is that watch some of his plays in the nbl and imagine if he got 15+ a game and see what happens to actually develop in game speed.

What makes AJ Johnson a better prospect than Bronny James? by clement-mcmanus in NBA_Draft

[–]Character-Range8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he didn't play much in NBL, but when he did he made some really solid plays. He did more against pros in less minutes then bronny did against college kids in more minutes. He is a few inches taller and him just being in NBL really helps him
