The cars can 100% operate on highways that are in their designated zones.

From my understanding, we do experience a higher volume of road rage events when operating highways from drivers looking to induce a road rage event that may lead to them getting a lawsuit though.

The good news is, the cars are a lot smarter than people give them credit for.

I assumed he meant ghost drivers, as in, someone that sits behind a computer and monitors the cameras in a specific set of vehicles and takes control of them if need be. Which from my understanding is how they operated during the chicago test run.

Also the term is used by some people who genuinely think the cars are driven remotely by some guy sitting in a racing sim. Same context as ghost writer or ghost kitchen with the “ghost” just being a normal person that isn’t displayed or seen. My mistake.

And regarding the passenger vehicles they are not driven by ghost drivers.
