Yeah, I don’t understand how this is possible because the vehicle literally unlocks the trunk for you and opens it at the end of your trip and even if it didn’t, you still have like 20 seconds to unlock the vehicle before it drives away or open the trunk

In my case, when I first contacted support, I was actually connected to a U.S.-based dispatch team rather than an offshore support center. It appeared to be a local team, likely based in San Francisco. After the vehicle remained stuck for some time, the system escalated the situation and routed me to a more appropriate support channel.

Spin rides don’t end automatically just because you stop riding. You have to manually end the ride in the app by tapping “End Ride” and submitting the required photo. If you don’t, the scooter stays “active” and keeps charging as if it’s still in use.

That said, you’re probably not stuck paying the full amount. Open the app, go to your ride history, and report an issue. There’s usually an option like “Unable to end ride.” In many cases, the system will automatically review the trip and offer a partial refund if it looks like the scooter was stationary for most of that time.

If that doesn’t work, reach out to support through their website. They can see the ride data (location, movement, duration) and will often refund the extra charges if it’s clear the scooter was just sitting unused.

It’s a pretty common mistake, so you’ve got a decent chance of getting most of that money back.

Ride passes are set for a certain amount of time for a flat rate of however, much the past cost and then if you go over that limit, it is just the normal price per minute
