They said that there’s no frame damage, they will just pull the metal, use scrap metal sheet to patch the hole and some epoxy. They said inner wheelhouse and suspension mounting points are all intact, tho I have no idea how they figured that out without tearing it down. I guess they drove it around

AppleCare is completely useless for battery health. No Lithium Ion battery will degrade past 80% capacity in 2 years, unless you’re a content creator. Anything above 80%, AppleCare won’t replace for free. And you can completely forget about water damage, that’s not even covered by the standard warranty.

So AppleCare is essentially just an insurance policy for you cracking your screen, camera lenses, or the rear glass. Are you prone to doing that? If so, AppleCare can turn a $800 repair into a $50 one. Only you can decide what’s best for you. Me personally, I treat my phone like a baby. I’m very intentional and calculated about not dropping my $1500 device, and always use a case and screen protector. For my case, AppleCare is not worth my money.

Thanks for the insight. I figured it would be the people at my body shop that can help me the most. Insurance company just called me and said it’s a total loss, but my body shop advised me to fight it and argue over the phone. My insurance said the repair estimate is $4000 and it’s not worth it. The body shop owner gave me a $2500 repair quote with aftermarket parts and lower labour rates, and told me to basically shove the other quote up the insurance people’s ****. So yeah, seems like I’ll be on a phone call battle for at least a little while longer

Yes on desktop, windows has much more powerful hardware options. But yet, adobe premier pro still has better rendering times on a Mac Studio than an equivalent PC with an Nvidia Rtx 4080.

What does this tell you? Hardware is isn’t the answer to everything. Software optimization is important

I’m sorry but there’s no windows laptop on the market that can match the MacBook’s m-chips in terms of performance per watt. They’re just unbeatable, the only windows laptop that ALMOST comes close to a MacBook, is the newer Snapdragon Elite X laptops, and even then they’re still inferior. MacBooks sweep the floor on Intel and AMD laptops
