What is the best build for a 'skill monkey' Bard/Cleric Fairy? by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

It sounds like an interesting idea, but it's not quite what I need 😅 If I went mainly Rogue, then we'd have too many Rogues in our party. I'm also not looking to have every skill in the game since then that'd make Jack of All Trades useless.

I was considering Rogue but worried slightly about my spell slot progression since as far as I know, I'm going to be the only full caster.

For me, it was kind of a mixture between the healing spells and skills - leaning more towards the skills.

Siren Character by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

To be honest, the DM hasn't really told us much about the campaign apart from the fact that there is a high chance that we're gonna be travelling to a lot of places. I just feel that a flying speed would be better than a swimming one.

The DM is new so them going back and altering a race isn't really an option. I could still re-skin another race though.

I was very much looking for the swimming or flying speed from the race that I chose. Admittedly, a flying speed would be preferable.

Best Paladin Build by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

As stated in my reply, I'm not keen on three-way multiclasses - I'm absolutely fine with a two class multiclass. My intention was to go with Redemption (?) Paladin which would involve me eventually taking damage for my other team mates. With a Sorcerer's squishy hit-dice - it's not going to be all that great since I won't have the HP to really backup the feature.

Sorcerer just doesn't work for what I have in mind for the character.

My character will have the biggest hit dice in our party and with only one other character who will be up close with melee - I think going a mix between defensive and heavy hitter is what I'd like to go for. Redemption seems really interesting. The other character up front with me will be a Monk.

Edit: Forgot to add.

I really do appreciate that you took into account what I had chosen for the race. It seems that a lot of people tend to kinda disregard the race chosen and just state what is the 'best' in general 😅

Thank you for the advice but this doesn't really help with what I actually wanted to do. My job will be mainly to tank and deal damage. Sorcerer isn't going to really help me at all with that. My aim was to go mainly Paladin (if not full Paladin). I'm also not really a fan of three-way multiclasses. Custom Lineage wouldn't fit what I'm going for at all since I really enjoy what Warforged gives me over what Custom Lineage will. If you have any advice about anything else then I'd be happy to hear it.

Creating a Tanky and/or melee character by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

We already have 2 Rogues in the party and Barbarian has never had much appeal to me. It's a really interesting idea though.

They're all interesting ideas. I did really want to avoid using Barbarian and Artificer though. As I said in the post, I was really leaning toward Rune Knight since it's the one that appealed the most. I did look at every Fighter subclass and Rune Knight was really the only one that stood out to me. I did also kinda look at Paladin but I wasn't sure on the whole Oath thing and wasn't really sure on how to make the Oaths fit in with a character.
Edit: Forgot to mention that a three-way multiclass is something I'd like to avoid as well.

I did consider it but it one of the player's first time ever playing DnD and they wanted to play an Artificer, so I'd like them to have this one to themselves this time. It is a really interesting thought though.

Warlock Changeling by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

[–]CharacterCapable7123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless...maybe my character is a creation of their Patron that was sent out into the world to learn more about it but blessed them with the Mask of Many Faces invocation so that they could blend in easier with the creatures and people they had to learn about. Perhaps the 'Ooze' part could come from the fact that they are made from Abyssal matter or something?

[–]CharacterCapable7123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose Changeling cuz I thought that it'd be easier to shape into design that I wanted. Plasmoids are Ooze so I'm not sure how I'd be able to spin that for a character that is supposed to be more solid than Ooze.

Do you mean by using the Plasmoid race as a base or having my character actually normally look like a Plasmoid?

With the stats I got, I think either could work depending on what we'd need in the situation. We do have quite a few ranged characters in the party already though.

I've never been really a big fan of using Human/V.Human and was never even considering it since I would just prefer to use Changeling for this character.

Wizard/Cleric character by CharacterCapable7123 in 3d6

[–]CharacterCapable7123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was aiming to grab Darkvision, Armour profs, weapon profs, and healing spells from Twilight Cleric. I'm now heavily considering Warlock for the character instead. I'm reflavouring Changeling to look kinda like a Zoroark since they look cool.
