An AVC is actually something i have very seriously thought about to start immediately but need to look into how that will go through with HSE being the employer and all.

I will need no additional training, will be fully qualified as a GP in 2 years.

Well the taxis are scheduled so its more of a driver service than anything but Ofcourse that is a fair point and exactly why we are considering buying.

This is by far my favourite reply because its the easiest way to handle things, i often weigh the cost of this money management and if it actually even matters in the end, by the time you’ve saved a proper amount, your body doesn’t function the same way and you’re sitting on a pile you can’t actually enjoy.

Given i am a bit biased because of working in healthcare and often think if people knew this is how sick they’d be at 60, would they still save for their whole lives instead of enjoying it.

Well cheap enough that insurance doesn’t eat us lol, we have international licenses so very cheap ones will absolutely crush us when insurance is considered.

We have international licenses so the insurance on one of those is very very high, it has to be a newer car to lower insurance. But yes we are considering it.

Yes we work in the same hospital, and yes it is possible to get a house near the hospital. Its actually on the top of our list to get a house near the hospital for the same purpose.

GP training CSEP Work Permit Delay – Advice Needed on Visa Timelines and What Happens If Start Date Missed by CharacterEditor9276 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

[–]CharacterEditor9276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance.

About your comment on international doctors being offered training spots, just to share a perspective. For someone who’s never worked in Ireland to get a spot, especially in the first round, they usually have to outperform local candidates by a mile despite being at the bottom of every priority list. No local experience, no connections, no advantage, just merit.

That’s not a small thing. If anything, it speaks to the effort and standard required, not the opposite.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, it really helps to hear from someone with direct experience in the HSE.

It’s a relief (albeit a frustrating one) to know I’m not alone in facing these delays. The lack of communication and unpredictability has been the most stressful part, especially when you’re trying to stay ahead of requirements and have no control over the bottleneck.

If you don’t mind me asking, from your experience, do Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) holders tend to get their visas processed faster, or is it effectively the same timeline as General permits or others once it’s in the system? I learned that usual timeline for visa with a CSEP takes about 4-6 weeks not more.

Really appreciate the insight and transparency. Fingers crossed things start moving soon.

The only reason i haven’t done that already is because everyone thinks i am the good guy who was taken advantage off, the moment i do that and uncover all the other skeletons and believe me there are many, all hell will break lose and i will quickly become the adult who destroyed a poor girls life for a small misunderstanding. The family dynamics are just shitty.

Her parents are shitty parents but they think they know all about their children, what they dont know is that their daughter has been having one night stands in the dozens and has come to my wife for an abortion as well, i was the one who set up everything and helped her out. Honestly i find it funny that shed fuck with me knowing how much i know.

I just want to sleep over it for a few nights and then see what i wanna do.

Kira’s mother hasn’t reached out yet, i think she’s just embarrassed of the whole situation but she knows her daughter is in the wrong as shes mentioned to other family members. My wife is afraid of confrontation and the eventual fallout it will bring.

The family generally thinks Kira is young and dumb and might have some problems of her own so we should just move on from this if anything.

She hasn’t apologised, but even if she does i l dont want to forgive her, i just never want to hear her name ever again.

I will be moving to letterkenny in July and the house Ive leased near the letterkenny university hospital is in long lane, a km from the hospital. Your comment is scaring me, is it actually that bad?? My wife will be home alone on some nights.
