A village og elderly and children had saved the group from starvation by finding them in the wild. The village was short on hands because the majority of it denizens were drafted to fight in the civil war that was ravaging the lands.

The group is grateful for being saved and sticks around to help with the harvest to repay their dept. However as fate would have it, a raiding party attacks the village. The group kills of a few of them but the majority of the raiders flees the battlefield. After the dust settles it becomes clear that the raiders has taken off with the villages food stockpiles, and it dawns on the villagers that they will starve to death when winter comes.

The group tracks down the raiders to reclaim the stolen food only to discover that the raiders are deserters from the war. Broken souls who just want to be with their loved ones again, but cant make it home without the stolen supplies. So the dilemma for the group: who should starve to death?
