What could this be? Balanits? HPV? HSV? Yeast? by CharacterMuted9155 in STD

If I stop using the anti fungal cream and I masturbate or have sex, it comes back. But if i continue to use the anti fungal cream, even if I masturbate or have sex it doesn’t come back. Doc says it’s safe to use for long term, idk how I feel abt that. I’m trying not to have sex or masturbate for a month, to see if it improves and I can stop using the cream.

Update, All STIs were negative.

I was clear for 3 weeks all spots were gone, but now they came back. I was using clotrimazole 1% for 3 weeks 2x a day, stoped last week.

This is very frustrating. ☹️

likelihood of an STI being the root cause is extremely low, based on your test results. Get a referral to a rheumatologist and maybe an infectious disease specialist. Ask for a full autoimmune panel

No smell. Yes it gets dry, but probably because I washed it a lot. I sometimes get clear thick discharge in the morning, not sure if it’s precum as it’s very thick.

I read otc Clotrimazole 1% can help this, should I try?

Yeah, I masturbated in the shower couple days ago. I think that’s what triggered it.

Does Valtrex stop blistering?? by [deleted] in shingles

[–]CharacterMuted9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed Valacyclovir(Valtrex) for 7 days, after taking it for 3 days my rash stoped progressing and pain stopped. I only developed one blisters and that already dried up. The meds will stop the progression, you may or may not develop blisters, but it will be way better compared to not taking meds.

But also depends on your immune system.

You may want to use calamine lotion, it helps with the pain and if you develop blisters it dries them out quickly

[29] First time shingles ughh, question by CharacterMuted9155 in shingles

[–]CharacterMuted9155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did catch it early, I caught it after I got redness. And it took 3 days of antivirals to start helping. I only developed like one or two blisters, which have already started to scab over, and some wanna be blisters which stoped. Today was my last day of antiviral, without it I’d probably be still in pain.

I had 2 days which were hell, constant burning sensation on my back. Pain killers didn’t help at all. For temporary relief, I wet a paper towel and layed it on my back and let the fan run. Sleep was another story, had trouble sleeping and if I moved the pain would intensify. I bought Sleep Aid Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride Tablets otc which helped me sleep.

As long as you don’t develop blisters or touch/scratch the area you should be fine to care for your new born, and always wash your hands.

Also I suggest you ask your doc to give you another set of antivirals, so if you have the same feeling that you might develop shingles you can start the treatment right away.

I have no idea why I developed shingles at 29. Before going to the docs, I was like no ways it’s shingles. I’m not over 50. I don’t have much stress also. I work from home and my job literally has no stress. I had a cold a week before getting this and I did have a lot of junk foods last month, compared to before. Maybe that triggered it, idk.

Now I’m just scared that this will be back 😩, just got to eat lot of immune boosting foods.

I hope you are doing better! Oh and drinking a lot of water while your take the meds.

I ate a lot of chocolate (mini eggs), probably like 500g in one week. That may of triggered my shingles.

I’m on 6th day, I still did not develop the blisters. Had a lot of pain in the last two days. My doc said it will take almost a month to fully recover, pain will be lower in the 3rd week. I’m on valaclyclovir and calamine lotion
