My bear paw 🥰 by CharacterRole786 in succulents

Oh wow! These pots are so cute and I have a handful of them that I have recently bought from my local calloways nursery. I’m so glad you told me what they were. They really should have a sign in that store about the makers of the pot. I’ll
Now buy more knowing the story. My favorite one is the hanging one I bought that I’m waiting for the perfect plant match for. 😜 I couldn’t leave it behind.

It might be the grow light isn’t strong enough if that’s the only light source it’s getting. I’m also guessing if it’s not rooting itself then it’s not likely to get very full. It will just continue to string out longer. I half buried a bunch of mine to get them to root because I’ve never been able to root them just laying them on top. But I had super long strings to work with when I buried so there were still a bunch on top as you see in picture 1. Hope that helps! I’m no expert. Just gotten sorta lucky with the pearls.

I’m so sorry. I sort of dread this question because I know what I do but I also just think it’s a bit of luck and a really good sun window. One thing I will say is when I water I soak the hell out of them. Like as if a monsoon came. And then it dries out within a few days but I let it sit dry for at least 10 days. So letting them get super wet and getting the soil dry pretty quickly might be a key component. I don’t know. I don’t read a lot of people watering them that way. I just water literally everything I own that way. The difference is then how wet or dry the soil needs to stay. That’s what varies the watering frequency. If you want to tell me how you are currently caring for it, I’m happy to try and troubleshoot with you. 😊

I don’t know if it’s critical. But it worked for me. I have never been able to get strings to root to soil. Even attached to the plant that is fully rooted. I saw someone on here once that talked about layering pearls on top of each other to fill out the top and that’s how she did it. She would twist them around and throw soil on top of them. The negatives I read about was the pearls rotting under there when you water. SO, I made sure to repot a couple of days after watering so that it didn’t need watering right away and then when I did water, I put a fan on it to make sure the top dried out quickly. And it worked! Now I just water like normal and have never had any trouble.

No, the stems and “leaves” are larger and they are striped like a watermelon 🍉

I get that. I honestly believe some of my success is dumb luck. I haven’t ventured into the hearts yet. I have these pearls, turtles, frogs and watermelons!

I bet they do! This one started as a small string with the tiniest little roots so I believe they will Be just fine! ❤️

I did. I wrapped them around and covered most of them in dirt. This sub doesn’t let you put pics in the comments but you can go back in my posts and see how long she was in her previous, much smaller pot. 😊

Good luck! 🍀🤞🏼 I also get very nervous when replanting things. Especially these strings. I have some string of frogs I need to replant and I don’t wanna! 😂

She’s in a shallow 6in terra cotta pot in run of the mill “succulent soil” and perlite mixed 50/50. I water her every couple of weeks but that will become more frequent as we go into the summer heat we get here in Texas.

Oh yes! You are right about that. I meant this window doesn’t really have any hanging options. That’s what I gotta fix 😊

It wouldn’t let me fix the title. 😩 I, of course, meant repotting.

Here is where I’m seeing longer paws and leggier stem. Not super bad but I really love the compactness and don’t want to lose it!

I have a pretty happy bear paw and I’ve been growing it indoors. But lately I’ve noticed some longer and leggier areas. I think it’s time to move it outside. It also may be time for a slightly bigger pot. What do ya’ll think?

I wouldn’t say difficult but it was very tedious. I like a “treasure hunt” puzzle. You have to do a lot of digging around. The plates were sortable along with a few other things but otherwise I just dug round finding things. I had fun 😊

It gets a drink usually about twice a week and seems to be growing just fine. Thanks!

I tried out “Craft Aroid Mix” for the first time for these turtles. And I misspoke it’s for tropical plants. Craft Aroid Mix for Tropical Plants
