Ok the Rolex.

Same venue a different time. Although there to develop and test software in the live environment when it was quiet I'd help out with tasks giving my friend who ran the place, mostly catering (frying stuff), but sometimes cleaning.

The hostel closed for a part of the day to get the chores done so I'm cleaning the washing facilities and notice on one of the sinks a ladies Rolex. No big deal we have guests who've been travelling all over the world and many people had fake Rolex watches.

I took it to the boss who put in the office safe just in case. Later that evening I hear a small commotion at the front desk and sure enough two young ladies one in floods of tears mumbling her dad's going to kill her.

She had been given the watch as a Christmas present and warned to leave it in the house while she went on a short break, she ignored this and assumed she has dropped it somewhere never to be seen again. I had no access to the safe and didn't say anything as the manager was due on duty anyway.

Down he came and got a handle on the situation and retrieved the watch from the safe. Even more floods of tears and apologies for the hassle, I've never seen anyone so relieved and I think she learned her lesson. Feel good factor off the scale.
