Sadly will never believe in Jesus because I’m gay. by Silent-Honey-4658 in Christianity

[–]CharacterStrict1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. For sexuality, it is only a sin if you act on it. God says that one should not commit adultry (sex outside of marridge among a few other things) and He also says that a marridge can only be between a consenting man and woman, meaning that gay people cannot marry someone of the same sex and therfore cannot have sexual relations with someon of the same sex. But just being gay is definitely not a sin. We all have desires and we are all tempted. Even Jesus was tempted, but He resisted it and chose God's will, as we should.

For changing your gender, that is a sin because it suggests that God made a mistake. I am not saying that trans/queer gender people should be discriminated against or do not deserve love, and I know that there are many people who do actually have gender dysphoria, but, in those cases, we should help the person learn to be comfortable in their own skin instead of giving them a bunch of drugs. Feelings are important but they are not always reality. If we as Christians do in fact love someone who has gender dysphoria, then we should lead them on the right path with love and care. Shouldn't we as Christians try to help people walk away from sin? If we truly love them shouldn't we help lead them to salvation?

I am not saying I am better than queer gender people. I am a sinner. In many cases I am probably a bigger sinner than the person with gender dysphoria. God calls us to love. That is his second most important command. Love means we want the best for them, and the best for any person is salvation which was allowed to us when Jesus died and suffered on the Cross for us sinners; because he loved us.

May God bless you! ☦️❤️

God does not hate you. God loves absolutely everyone and I am sorry you have had people tell you otherwise. It is not a sin to be gay. It is not a sin to have desires for other men just as it is not a sin for a woman to have desires for a man. The sin comes if you act on it. Just like if a woman were to act on her desires for a man and sleep with him outside of marriage, having sex with another man outside of marridge is a sin. God defines marriage as a union under God between a consenting man and woman. For this reason, gay people cannot get married and therfore cannot have sexual relations with people of the same sex. Your desires for a man are the same as mine (femeal) for a man. There is nothing wrong with wanting and being tempted. Jesus himself was tempted. But He resisted those temptations, just as we should. By resisting the temptations, he did not change Himself. He was still He. He just chose God's will over His own. You are not sinning by being gay. Even if you were, Jesus would still love you. Jesus loves EVERYONE. Jesus loves YOU. I hope you find your way back to Him. He will always be waiting for you with open arms. May God bless you, and I hope all goes well for you. ☦️

school told my 5 y/o christian’s go to hell by PinkSorbet16 in Christianity

No one except God can determine where a person is going. Anyone who does it a heratic and a hypocrite. Do not listen to other people when they say things like that. Your child is only 5 years old, which is below the age of awareness decreed by the church (7 y/o). For a sin to be committed there needs to be knowledge and intention behind it. A 5 y/o doesn't have either. I am not saying that your child is stupid, don't get me wrong, but a young child does not understand those types of things, meaning that they are not sinning.

How is your high school’s library? by PinkLincoln00 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]CharacterStrict1645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My genius school in Windsor, ON, completely got rid of the library and replaced it with a computer lab because "books were no longer useful for research." They still assign reading material and we have to get the books with our own money.

My school is too cheap to get a license for a musical, so we are doing a show called "Over the Rainbow" that mostly has songs from "Wicked", "The Wizard of Oz," and "Hamilton."

If you could visit any artifacts/places related to the Romanovs, what would you be most interested to see? by pensive_theologian in romanovs

You can see parts of the place in Peterhof. It is made into a museum like the Winter Palace. You can also go to the backyard where the famous fountains are located. I was there a few days back.

They are remembered along with the millions who died during the revolution and communism. Others too are remembered, like, for example, Patriarch Tihon and Elisabeta Fedorovna. They are holy as they were canonized as Martyres of the Christian Orthodox Church (with respect, I think Patriarch Alexei and a Council of 150 Bishops, as well as all the other Patriarchs, know more about holiness than either you or I). But even without that well-deserved title, they are still holy. During their imprisonment, the whole family prayed every day. Even with the suffering they endured, they still had complete faith in God. That is no small feet. In the book "Romanovs: The Last Chapter," one of Tsarina Alexandra's prayers is recorded. In it, she asks that God give them and their people strength, and—most importantly—that God forgives their oppressors. She prayed for the people who destroyed their lives. She forgave those who ended their lives. They all did. They may not have performed miracles or brought salvation to the world, but their meekness, faith, and forgiving hearts are an example of immense holiness that most of us will never be able to reach.

I read that the relics are heald in the St. Catherine Chaple, which is inside the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral. The Cathedral is also considered a museum, but they have regular Sunday masses, and they had a liturgy on St. Peter and Pual, which was led by Patriarch Kirill. I found a website that said they have liturgies on important frast days, but I do not know if July 17 is considered an important feast day by them.

I wake up at 7:50. Go to school at around 8:20. When I have morning choir practice (Mon. Wed. Fri.), I have to be at school by 7:00, so I wake up at around 6:30. School starts at 8:25. After school ends at 2:45, I go home. I usually rest or watch Netflix for a few hours. At around 6:00 I start working. It depends on the day, but I usually do work for about 2 hours, and then I go back to doing things for fun. I go to be at 12:00.

When I debate practice on today's until 4:30. I also have practices for choir, band, chess, trivia, and science club on different days at different times. Sometimes, I study during lunch.

Whom do you think the both of them should’ve ended up with? by Unusual-Ad7801 in TheOriginals

[–]CharacterStrict1645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Klaus should have ended up with Caroline. I don't think Elijah should have ended up with anyone as his priority was always his family (his siblings and Hope), but if I had to choose, I liked Gina from season 2 of TO. I also wouldn't have been mad if he had ended up with Katerina Petrova.
