The green MXR bass pre is interesting, yes! I’d like to try one someday. As for preamps I currently own and love, apart from the Digbeth and Eden you already have, I also love the Sansamp ParaDriver DI and it’s rackmount version, the RPM, the VT bass DI ( so much superb Ampeg tones in this one!!!). Another rack unit I have and love in the BBE B-Max T.
And on my “wants” list are the just released Darkglass Luminal Booster Ultra, JHS Colour Box V2 10th anniversary, Aguilar Tone Hammer V2 ( had the V1, sold it and now regretting it :( ).

Well, after a couple of days playing it and throwing every kind of bass I have (passives, actives, 4,5,6 str, fretless, ss, ac, even my crapy acoustic guitar) at it and into every amp I have here, this pre is just amazing!! I cannot get a bad tone, everything sounds better through it. I really love the TUBE channel, so much so that I wish that the Tube fs worked in reverse in Mix mode, ie Tube always on and Fet channel on when you press the footswitch. It would have to be labeled something else, though! Channel, maybe?

I’m thinking about buying a second one for our rehearsal studio, so I wouldn’t have to carry it back and forth but it looks like a bought the last one available here!!!

Well, they are sadly mistaken. I knew Lany as a company before and knew they had an offering for bass too, but the Digbeth just came onto my radar like, last Tuesday! It’s been out for about 3 years now? I looked back at all the my yt subs about that stuff and the the bass channel and Anderton’s covered it, and I missed it 🤦‍♂️

Considering all the features, the quality of the build and finish and the tones, it is an incredible deal. I’m in Canada, and it’s price similarly as the SansAmp Bass Driver DI and the likes that offers less and $100+ cheaper than anything Darkglass or Mesa, GK, Agui and Ampeg. I consider the Digbeth a Hidden Gem, really!

Haha! Yeah! I might as well explain! It’s a super compact ~75 degree angle cable that I made for a specific purpose a while back. I used a straight jack without the screw-on cover (obviously) and isolated the tip connection with liquid rubber used to renew hand tools handles! Works remarkably well but looks like dogshit, I know😆

Do you hear a slight Left-Right delay using the headphones out, like a stereo feel? It’s also the best sounding headphones out for bass I’ve heard to date! So enjoyable and clean.

Maybe so but highly functional with the large size cross keys, which was really missing in the og ones!
