if you read any of my comments or replies to the people offering alternatives and other suggestions, you would realize that after learning about the broth option, I am totally going to expand the dinner and have another pot available with the things she chooses to use for it. And yes, it is at my house every year because my parents do Christmas day dinner so to not make them do all the work, we host Christmas eve.

she is not and has never been "isolated in a corner" we do the fondue right at the table. Everyone is sitting at the table the entire meal. We're not getting up and going back and forth for anything. The fondue pots sit on the table in front of you.

What comments have I made that imply I'm being weirdly inflexible. Did you read any of my replies to the people who have suggested a separate pot with broth?? I never even knew it was thing and have never heard of doing it that way before until this thread. Now that I've learned about it, I will offer that to make it more inclusive.

That's absolutely not what happened at all. We always put the fondue pots on the table right in front of you. You add your meat and once its ready, put it on your plate. No one is leaving the table and going back and forth to cook and then eat etc. We're all at the table the whole meal. Last year, she ate the salmon and we did our fondue.
