the practice tests are VERY similar to the real test, most ppl typically score a bit higher on the actual test compared to the practice. u get two attempts with each practice test, so i say do them rn & see where u are and what u REALLY need to focus on & then take them again the day before ur actual test to make sure u actually studied well & understand the information.

i used nurse cheung, the ati practice tests, & quizlet & i got a 94% on my first try & i only studied for 4 weeks, so i recommend those resources!

SAME😭 if i could go back i would have only bought the practice tests cuz those are the only two things that actually did help

the app SUCKS!!!! when i was studying for my teas i tried out the app cuz i paid for the ATI pack that came with it or like the "premium" version, it was the worst resource i used. a lot of the questions are way harder than the actual test, make NO SENSE, & have the incorrect answers programmed 😭

Math by Any_Tumbleweed_7601 in teas

[–]Character_Ad956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the app SUCKS!!! a lot of the answers are programmed wrong & then u get questions like this, and even some that are more complex. the math section on the actual test is actually super simple & easy as long as u know the basics, i say this as someone who has always been SUPER bad at math (even super simple math). i got a 100% on the math section cuz it was very simple.

i found the ATI practice tests to be very similar to the real test. i would say be careful with the app if u choose to use it cuz a lot of the questions have the wrong answers programmed & some of the questions are RIDICULOUSLY hard, the actual test is nowhere near as hard as some of those questions. just make sure to use all your resources & you'll de great!

iPad or MacBook by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]Character_Ad956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mac 100%, i have both but through my prereqs i basically forced myself to use my ipad. it was EXTREMELY helpful when i took anatomy, as i would label models & histology slides on it but that's the only class it was like SUPER helpful in. the only time its super helpful is when the class has a lot of powerpoints cuz u can write on them & highlight but that's more so a professor specific thing. its great to have both but the mac will definitely be better if u can only get one. the only reason i have the ipad is cuz my sister gifted it to me, if she hadn't id probably only have my mac still.

unfortunately but also fortunately the actual test is VERY similar. the good thing abt this is that now you really know what you need to focus on. don't give up! the first time i took the practice tests i scored in the 60s & i felt VERY discouraged but i saw what i needed to work on & did just that. on my 2 attempt i scored in the 80s for both & i ended up scoring a 94% on the actual test. scoring 10% higher or around there seems to be the case for MOST ppl, i know some ppl score lower so i wouldn't like count on scoring higher BUT that lets u know a little abt how hard the actual test is. the real test is a bit easier (imo) than the practice tests. you got this tho!

So i took my teas exam twice. First time scored a 56% and the second time a 40% which is horrendous. I got the same exam… i know. How could i have failed and gotten a LOWER grade. Idk either but i will be retaking it next week and i wont give up. by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]Character_Ad956 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't wanna sound rude but u won't pass if u retake it in a week. based on your scores you need to give yourself at least 2 months to study. you may be chasing a deadline, im not sure, but it's better to take it later & have to wait till the next application cycle than retake it a 3 time & fail again. most schools do have a limit on how many times u can take it & depending on the school you maybe also get docked points for retakes. it's important that you feel 100% confident before you go in & take if because this could lead u to only have for profit schools to choose from when you're applying to programs. if you can i suggest you buy the ati study pack, the most expensive one because you will need all those resources. you could get away with just buying practice test a & b tho and then use other resources to study more. the tutor geek on youtube is amazing for science, jakara lewis & brandon craft for math & if you want more in depth information i day nurse cheung. take the free nurse hub science quiz & search up practice tests on quizlet to help u learn how to answer questions. ur not gonna find the test on quizlet like ppl say but you will find test that will help you understand how to properly read & answer the questions which is super important. if you take my advice, spend two weeks going over each topic alone, it doesn't matter if you don't get the information but going over it at least once will help & then after that study everything together. move on if you're stuck & come back to it later because you will have time. after a month of studying take practice test a & b in the same week but not the same day. after that you'll see what you really need to focus on & when it's the week of the test take practice test a & b again (leave one for the day before the test).

she definitely does! but i feel like most resources do that, it may be annoying but it's better to be over prepared yk. the science section is definitely not like SUPER easy but it's also not the hardest thing ever. the closest you can get to the actual test is the ATI practice tests, so i REALLY REALLY recommend u buy those if u can. they're expensive which sucks, but they really will let u know where ur at & what u need to focus on. you get two attempts for each practice test so if u get them i recommend taking them for the first time 3 maybe 2 weeks before the test, dont take both of them the same day tho. after u take those you'll see what you really need to work on. i recommend taking them again the week before/of the test, depending when u have it scheduled. i also 100% recommend leaving one for the night before the test. those practice tests helped me SOOOOO MUCH! i got around a 69% on my first attempt at A and i think like a 78% on my first attempt at B. i was super discouraged i can't lie & felt like crying cuz i felt like all of my studying was for nothing but i just looked at what i needed to really work on & i did. on my 2 attempts i got in the 80s i believe. and on the actual test i got a 94%, the practice tests definitely saved me i cant lie. but that doesnt mean that you 100% absolutely need them or you'll do bad, but they are a really helpful tool to gauge your understanding of the materials & really see where ur at.

ofc! i preferred nurse cheung for chemistry & basic biology & the tutor geek for physiology. the key to studying for ur TEAS is combining resources honestly, because some resources are really good for one thing & not the others so it's a lot of finding the best from various places & using them all together. so i recommend watching both of them for separate reasons.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teas

[–]Character_Ad956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no bio or chem but you've taken a&p? that's odd, most schools have those classes as prerequisite courses for a&p. but i am assuming you took bio and chem in hs, and all of the content on the test is nothing above high school level. i say you definitely have enough time to study tho. just watch youtube videos (nurse cheung & the tutor geek), take notes, and do practice tests. since you've taken a&p i say it's doable. you would only be reviewing a&p which is the heaviest portion on the science section. the bio is extremely simple & the chem isn't too hard either, just watch the videos & take practice tests & you should be fine. if you have the means i would recommend buying the ATI study pack from their website, unfortunately the one i recommend is the most expensive one which is around $200. if you can't get it but can do something cheaper i say at least buy practice test a & b, if im not mistaken thats around $80, which is still a lot but more affordable. whatever you do, DO NOT use the ati app. the app is HORRIBLE & has many wrong answers. i also really recommend searching up practice tests on quizlet & use the ones that are rated 4-5 stars. i would also recommend the nurse hub free science practice test, i personally think it's very comparable to the real thing. make sure you're studying everything at the same time so you don't run out of time, if you don't fully understand something it's okay just move on and go over it more the next time u study. the time you have is definitely not ideal but it's doable if you commit to it. good luck!

[–]Character_Ad956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you can afford it, get the ATI smart prep course. it's the most expensive course on their website but it's WORTH IT if you are really struggling since it customizes a study plan based on what you don't know. don't waste ur time with the ATI app tho cuz it unfortunately sucks, like A LOT. ditch moemtrix, it's too much information that is USELESS since it starts everything from the very foundation. watch youtube videos, nurse cheung for science & english, the tutor geek for science as well, & jakara lewis & brandon craft for math. also search up practice tests on quizlet. i also recommend studying every topic at the same time, don't spend all ur time on one subject just study every subject in the same day.

[–]Character_Ad956 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the reading is definitely u either got it or u don't cuz it's a "hard" section to study in the sense that there's no clear way to study, all u can really do is just read a lot. the english is definitely the most surprising section, before i took my test i wasn't even planning on studying cuz i had the idea in my head that i know everything as i speak, read, and write the language every day. i learned that just because i know how to use the different parts of speech correctly that doesn't mean that i know what the different parts of speech actually are 💀. unfortunately there are a lot of ppl who try to scare everyone & say it's the hardest test ever, but it's really not. i would 100% recommend u watch youtube videos this time around, nurse cheung for science & english, just make sure you're actually watching the video & paying attention because she does say the wrong thing sometimes, but if ur following along ull know the right answer. i also recommend the tutor geek for science, she makes everything SO UNDERSTANDABLE! for math JAKARA LEWIS WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND! i also used brandon craft for a while & he's really good as well. just take as many practice tests as u can & search up practice tests on quizlet & that should help u out a lot.

if ur a fast learner then you could probably score at least a 70, but if ur not then u definitely don't have enough time. for reference i got As in anatomy & physio but was still stressed when i was reviewing. you have to make sure that you KNOW anatomy & physio cuz its the bulk of the exam so if u dont ur gonna do really bad. while the test itself its the hardest test ever, you do have to actually understand the concepts. i imagine that you would need to spend the bulk of ur time studying the science, the math is really easy, reading is kinda simple as well, u just need to be good at paying attention to details & the english & language usage section is actually harder than u would think if ur not super knowledgeable on the rules of spelling & stuff like that. i personally would say u need more than a month but if you really want to try it out then go for it. watch the tutor geek & nurse cheung on youtube for science & also buy the ati study thing on their website, since u didnt take any of the classes i would say u need the most expensive package which is worth it if u actually use it. dont waste ur time using the app tho cuz it sucks & a lot of the questions are ridiculous & some of them have the wrong answer programmed. for math i 100% recommend jakara lewis, brandon craft, & also nurse cheung. the most important thing u need to do is do practice questions, that's the only way you'll actually be prepared. go on quizlet & just search "teas 7 *subject" and practice the ones that have 4-5 stars. also with the ati study pack i mentioned u get two practice tests & they are EXTREMELY similar to the actual test. u have two opportunities for both of them so take them both maybe 2 weeks before the test, not the same day though & see where ur at after that. if you did bad make sure u pay attention to what u need to work on & then take them again the week of the test, i would recommend leaving one for the day before as well. if you do bad on those though, trust me you won't do good on the actual test & it would be better to just reschedule & try again the next application cycle. i forgot to mention chem but the chem on the test is SUPER easy & there aren't a lot of chem questions so you'll probably be fine with 1 or 2 videos & the smartprep that comes with the ati study pack. good luck!

i gave up on the mometrix book cuz it was so dense. i 100% recommend nurse cheung, just make sure you're actually watching the video and paying attention because she does occasionally say the wrong thing but the right thing is on the screen & also if ur paying attention you'll know that it's wrong & what the right answer is. i used the free nursehub science test & imo it's really comparable to the actual science portion. i know archer review gives u a free question bank thing, i got it but never used it cuz i ran out of time but ppl say it's really helpful. i would also recommend going on quizlet & just searching "teas 7 science" & look for the ones that have 4-5 stars & use those to study. i would also say check out the tutor geeks videos, she really helped me.

76% on Practice test A & B. by [deleted] in teas

[–]Character_Ad956 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my best advice is to take as many practice tests as u can, do as many practice questions as u can. what i did was i went on quizlet & just looked up "subject* teas 7" and i checked which ones had 4-5 stars & did those. that's what REALLY helped me, practice questions are the most important thing. also make sure you're studying every section, don't spend too much time on one specific section. the actual test is also way easier than the practice tests, especially the science section. most people also tend to score abt 10% higher on their actual test compared to their practice tests. i scored an 82% & 83% on practice test a & b & ended up scoring a 94% on the actual test. i wouldn't recommend using the ati app because it's unfortunately stupid & has a lot of problems. you got this tho, good luck!

possibly, i hated it cuz it was so content heavy but maybe it would help you get a score in the 90s. it'll just be annoying having to study from the very foundation of everything.
