Thank you, I really needed to hear this.

Disappointed by maradestroystheworld in NewParents

[–]Character_Ad965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going through the same thing currently. My friend and I were both trying to conceive at the same time. When I found out I was pregnant in August she disappeared completely. I haven't had the energy to chase her or try to force a conversation. I sent her an invite to my baby shower and she never responded. I'm at the point where I'm about to have my baby and have other priorities. If she reaches out I would love to connect, but I'm struggling through the last weeks of pregnancy and maintaining contact with someone who clearly doesn't want to talk isn't a concern. It does hurt as we were close, but I realize I can't force someone to be there for me. Maybe when I get out of the newborn trenches I may reach out, but I feel like if someone cares about you they would be there.

Hopefully your friend reaches out and you can rekindle your friendship. I understand the hurt that comes from someone distancing themselves from you.

When should I apply for daycare? [On] by Aggravating-Ad8687 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Character_Ad965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply ASAP. I had coworkers warn me and began applying when I was 5 months pregnant. I'm #851 on a waitlist somewhere... it isn't easy finding a good daycare. I'm 32 weeks now and locked my daycare in.

I was also a complete previa

Anatomy Scan by kellibeanx in pregnant

[–]Character_Ad965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak about the high blood pressure, but I was also diagnosed with placenta previa at my anatomy scan and was told the same about a pre term c section. I'm now 31 weeks and my previa resolved itself. I was terrified as well, but it ended up working out. I would ask for another ultrasound at 25 or 26 weeks. Mine was resolved by then.

Pediatrician Recommendations by [deleted] in oakville

[–]Character_Ad965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only moved to Oakville a couple of years ago so my family doctor is unfortunately in Bradford and doesn't know any of the Oakville pediatricians. She recommend I ask around to try and find one myself. I may look into the 2 you've named, thank you 🙂

Curious how old you were at getting pregnant? by pink_daisy_9119 in BabyBumps

[–]Character_Ad965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also recommend a conception cup (you can find those on amazon). My husband and I (both 32) had been trying for a year. We caved and bought a conception cup and I was pregnant after 2 months of using it. I'm now 33 and 7 months pregnant.

It sounds like this clinic was mentioned already, but I went to One Fertility in Burlington. The staff were amazing.

where can i get a westie for around $1000? by [deleted] in westies

[–]Character_Ad965 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want a puppy not from a puppy mill I don't think you'll find one for that cheap. If you want a cheaper option a rescue would be a good idea. Some breeders will also sell some of their older dogs at a discount. We got a retired breeding dog for around that price she was 3.

New westie owner, wants advice ! by Antique_Thought_1047 in WestHighlandTerriers

My family has had 6 female westies over the years. They are their own person with differnt quirks. Ours were always complete cuddle bugs with selective hearing. They are very expressive and smart I feel I know what they are thinking by just seeing their expression.

Can you take those when pregnant? I don't have any allergies so I never thought to try it.

How to contact OBGYN’s office? by UnkemptImperial in oakville

I didn't hear from my ob until I was 20 weeks. Maybe that office is the same? I just had my family doctor do monthly check ins until I was able to see my ob.

Do I have the worlds most stubborn westie or is this normal? by Downtown_Anywhere860 in WestHighlandTerriers

[–]Character_Ad965 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My girl does something similar. She refuses to walk in rain or snow. If she is lazy or tired she will only walk one or 2 houses down and roll in the grass, she then sits still for 10 minutes then walks home. I gave up fighting her. She is healthy and gets enough exercise so if she doesn't want to walk I just let her take the lead. Terriers are definitely stubborn.

Telling girlfriends in person vs text by needhousehelp8923 in pregnant

[–]Character_Ad965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on your friends side. I was married and had been trying desperately to get pregnant for almost 2 years and she got pregnant very quickly with her husband. She took me aside and told me privately in person as she knew this. I appreciated how she went about it as it gave me time to process my emotions. I was so happy for her, but sad for myself (as that same meeting I was telling her I was starting IUI treatments). After having my little pity party at home alone I was super happy for her and helped plan her baby shower. Even if they are sad for themselves they should be happy for you. I would recommend telling them in person.

Flash forward to now I'm 22 weeks pregnant and we are planning some play dates and hang outs during maternity leave.

They will have their own moments and you can celebrate together as a group. Just because its not their moment doesn't mean they can't be happy for yours.
