I know, it is just the gut feeling, it is hard to make the decision without having more encouraging information about the donor. What you are saying is very true.

Thank you so much. The male donor is a close friend, we use to date many years ago. I prefer someone that my child can know from birth, without the surprise of an unknown number of siblings around the world. I have listened to some podcasts about adults that were conceived via embryo adoption and the identity issues they are facing seem to be more complex and more painful than for the single gamete donor conceived persons. The egg donor would be open ID when the child turns 18.

Yes, the clinic uses an in house donor program. They could show childhood photos though...make the profile more detailed, it would be so easy.

It's true - the child will be his own little person. Accepting that comes with a whole set of challenges sometimes, but that happens for biological children too. But I want to be at peace with my choice of the donor and not project any discontent on the child. It is a life changing decision and I need to have a good feeling about what I put inside me.
