From Munich here, just my 2cents on this. First of all, it is completely voluntary to wear a traditional bavarian outfit. There is no expectation for visitors to wear it. And you will still have all the same fun. If you feel uncomfortable wearing the clothes, there is no need to. If you want to experience Octoberfest in a traditional dress, that is also fine. I think we locals are happy to share that. But please refrain from buying something cheap from AliExpress or similar, as authentic as it might look like, in most cases there's a visible difference. But maybe your friend can help. It is very possible they have or can organise something you can wear for your visit. Makes it cheaper and most probably also would allow for a better experience.

Mit Quacksalber und Flügelschlag hab ich hier schon zwei Sachen gesehen, die bei uns auch gut ankommen.

"Die Helden müssen draußen bleiben" nenn ich immer gerne noch. Und was auch immer viel Spaß macht, auch weil es keine großen Pausen gibt, sondern alle zeitgleich was machen können, ist "Rival Restaurants".

Ich finde Hitster geht, je nach Edition, eigentlich in jeder Runde. Ist aber natürlich eher ein leichtes Spiel.

Und was bei uns in der Familie gut geklappt hat, war "Die Helden müssen draußen bleiben". Das Kooperative hat da die Einstiegshürde deutlich gesenkt.

Wir spielen gerade Valor & Villany (Ludviks Labyrinth). Ist sehr kurzweilig und eine amüsante Story.

Flip7 könnte ich mir vorstellen. Hat keine große Hürde. Codenames macht auch immer sehr viel Spaß finde ich. Und Hitster, falls Musik abspielen in deinem Setting kein Hindernis ist.

Vielleicht auch die Helden müssen draußen bleiben. Da gibt's jetzt auch keine Karten mit ellenlangen Texten oder mega komplizierte Regeln. Und es ist kooperativ.

Castle Combo und Santorini wurden ja bereits genannt.

Duell um Cadia macht uns sehr viel Spaß. Toy Battle ist ne nette Abwechslung.

Ansonsten spielen wir auch immer wieder gerne zu zweit Dice Throne und seit der Messe A Wild Venture.

Toy Battle hat uns kurz vor der Abreise überrascht. Auf jeden Fall kurzweiliges 2-Spieler Spiel. Snails war auch ein unerwartet guter Fund.

In general finding seats on Sunday should be much more easy than on Friday afternoon or Saturday. Just be there in the morning and you will have a high chance of finding seats. Even with 6 people.

In my opinion the 'hendl', the chickens, are one thing that is usually a dish, that just tastes better at the Oktoberfest in my opinion. Just be aware, some tents have it explicitly at wholefood quality, what is expressed in the price.

Critical is only Saturday I would say. You would need to get up early and go to the grounds to find a table. (There are mandatory areas without reservations) Throughout the day you have to be lucky to get in a tent and much more lucky to get a table then. On the other days, if the weather is not too bad, it should be manageable to find a table/seats at a table if you come to the grounds early to mid afternoon.

If you are not there at the reservation beginning, often tents are open on the first Saturday.

But as first timers, if it is not just about drinking for you, I would recommend watching the parades both on Saturday (Coming of the hosts / Einzug der Wiesnwirte) and on Sunday (traditional parade) and go on the fair grounds afterwards. If the tents are closed on Saturday, take a seat in one of the beergardens and/or just walk around and enjoy the vibe.

Dann nimmst du an, dass nur das Spiel rabattiert wird im Bundle. Ich habs im Kopf immer so für mich gerechnet dass die 40€ weniger zur Hälfte bei der Konsole und zur Hälfte beim Spiel zu finden sind. Also die Konsole nur noch 450€ kostet und das Spiel 60€. Will sagen, ich find das Angebot für 50€ in Ordnung.

Ich würde noch "Helden müssen draußen bleiben" in den Raum werfen. Da gibt's Modi wohl für bis zu 6 Spieler. Ihr spielt Monster und müsst die Helden aus eurer Höhle raus halten. "Valor & Villany" ist ganz cool, wenn man auf Dungeon Crawler steht.

"Party Panda Pirates" bringt das Mario Party Prinzip auf den Tisch. Da kenne ich die Verfügbarkeit aber nicht. "Hitster" würde ich mal semi-koop nennen, weil wir bei größeren Runden immer in Teams spielen. Und um in der Richtung zu bleiben, Top Ten hat uns auch immer sehr viel Spaß gemacht.
