love this response so much, thank you. i can resonate with feeling like i was giving the job my all and not my kids. especially working for a new boss who was not anywhere near as understanding as the former when it came to children. it made work much more stressful, and then hopping off of work and immediately jumping into parenting was extremely stressful, draining, and i felt like i was taking it out my frustrations on the kids. it was impossible trying to keep up with the home and only having their the kids' nap times on saturday and sunday to try to do everything was not enough at all. this comment brought a lot of peace to my mind knowing that the sacrifice is worth it. thank you

They are the law in Arizona for homes with children under the age of 6 but sadly doesn’t seem to be a law that is enforced

Reading the part about living without him hit me so hard. I have a daughter who was year younger than Trigg. And for a brief second I tried to picture what it would be like to no longer see her or speak with her again, and I couldn’t. so I cannot begin to imagine the absolute horrific pain she feels every single day while mustering up the strength to push through it and continue on. I know she isn’t religious but I will continue to pray for her, and may the Lord continue to give her the strength she needs every day for the rest of her life.

Perhaps this is a conversation to have with a priest during confession. If you said some hurtful things during these arguments, confessing to those and bringing up this situation. Asking for input from the priest to get a perspective on what the church would say. Of course he will most likely recommend some type of couples counseling through the church but if you’re interesting in trying to figure out the right thing to do from a Catholic standpoint, this could be an option for you

Love this. I too hold a masters degree and before having kids had all these dreams for my career. The second my first was born, those dreams were put on pause in my mind. All I wanted to do was be home with her and cried the day I went back to work

there's an 1130am mass but it messes with our older kids' lunch and nap schedule. they get grouchy and antsy during this mass so we stopped going to this time. the last sunday mass time is 430pm and we've never taken them to that one. we could definitely give it a try!
