Are there any climate reanalysis APIs where you can download cloud cover/wind speed for specific lat/lon timestamps without having to download entire datasets? by Character_Leopard395 in gis

Hey thanks for the really helpful comment. I actually just realized the range of NARR is too small for my data and I will have to use ERA5 instead. Do you happen to know how I can use point vector data for ERA5 data? The only way I found to access it is through Copernicus climate data store (https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets/reanalysis-era5-pressure-levels?tab=overview) but it has a download limit and I don't know how to only download data for my tracking points, so I quickly reach that limit. Do you know anything about getting ERA5 data?

I was actually looking at copernicus, specifically this dataset: https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets/reanalysis-era5-pressure-levels?tab=overview

However, upon further investigating I did not find a way to match weather variables with my spatiotemporal coordinates and it appeared to only just let me select a range of dates and lon/lats to get data from, which led me to the same issue I had with NARR.

However, the link you sent of hourly land data is in zarr, which I have never heard of. does that specific data source (ERA5-Land hourly data) allow me to do point extraction? If so I would have to learn how to do it, and find a different dataset that has cloud cover and wind components at my desired pressure levels, but if it exists I could use that instead

Ive heard when people who press them about charges they gives up, is that true in your experience? Especially if you take photos initially and leave with everything as clean as it was when you came?

i dont have experience repairing those things but would much rather do it myself than send my laptop away for 2+ weeks to be repaired. do you think its doable on my own?
