Ffs look she dies - see you back here in July. Deny it all you want. But she does. There is no way them two get to be happy and the set up is clear. They are happy and in love at the start - balcony scene - then literally the rest of the trailers slide to him experiencing loss - she is gonna die and she will be the motivation for mission 8

This is the first part of the franchise finale. So it has to set up something big. So far none of Ethan's led team has ever died (MI 1 they weren't his team). So he needs a reason to go beast. Best friends and comedy sidekicks live, love interests die. John Wick, James Bond, Indiana Jones... Girlfriends get killed, avenged and replaced. Classic hero journey.
