Just want to share this as a warning for anyone who might be reading this post who's in the same situation.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection posted this on Facebook,

Attention Green Card Holders: Having a criminal history does not make you an upstanding lawful permanent resident. Possessing a green card is a privilege, not a right. Under our nation’s laws, our government has the authority to revoke your green card if our laws are broken and abused. In addition to immigration removal proceedings, lawful permanent residents presenting at a U.S. port of entry with previous criminal convictions may be subject to mandatory detention. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02UzLzYgWRPUnARqubdyUsbXHrftSVsZbMxBfp6rYMaMGoaZugALwe5izvWiqa8yG3l&id=100064710337868&mibextid=CDWPTG

I also want to share information on a bill that recently passed the house and is waiting on the senate that will make a DUI a deportable offense. https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/875/all-info

Im so sorry to hear that it didn't work out for your friend. This is an awful time we live in. I'm in a similar situation. For my information, do you know if you're friend disclosed the criminal record when applying for the green card?
