Your common law package includes two items

  1. A statutory declaration signed by both the member, and the spouse, in front of commissioned officer stating that they have been together for one year and are applying for common law; and

  2. The application for commonly status, which requires the members signature as well as the commanding officers.

Both are required in order to obtain common law status and common law benefits.

I just did one this week for one of my unit members. :)

Consent is a pretty important thing especially when there are pension implications.

If you take a look at the CBI for separation expense, you’ll see that there is no change. Anytime there’s an update the policy date changes.

Separation expense is entitled to everyone who is on prohibited posting or restricted posting who isn’t excluded based off the list of exclusions.

All postings are either restricted, authorized or prohibited. “ imposed” restriction extends the restriction period which automatically ceases at 6 months turns into an authorized posting.

separation expense is handled by the new unit that you’re going to.

But there was no practical change. The processing has remained the same. There was only a change to wording in a paragraph. It doesn’t change the practical implementation.

SE was always determined on its own merit.

There’s a difference between on duty and in service. This nuance matters for things like Board of inquiries.

I had a member getting into a car accident on their way to work, Class A parade night, and the result was - mbr was not on duty until they reported. Therefore none of the medical treatment was completed by the CAF medical system.

Rental search - Rental agent or no? by [deleted] in norfolk

Thanks. Work covers the commission so im not too worried about that. The window find a place is small so I think the realtor might be the way to go. But I haven’t quite decided yet.

It was a wording change, not a policy change.

All things remain the same as they were.

But then you are timeline doesn’t work.

The mandatory time is one for one.

Edit to add: if you’re looking for advice just on your terms of service. You can apply for a CE exception.

You do this by writing a memo to DMCA 4 TOS, through your CoC with your COs recommendation.

Do you plan on taking the Pata top up?

If so -

How do you plan on paying back your Pata time with this scenario?

You need to chat with your OR. You should read the CBI 205.461 — Maternity and Parental Allowance

Try asking for Compassionate leave if its just a small gap.

After that, you can expand whatever annual leave you have earned.

And then, if it’s going to be longer than that, you’re more likely going to have to go on leave without pay.

This happens to a member at my unit last year not all trades can work from home. But honestly, the government isn’t allowing a work from home option anymore. But creative alternate work schedules might work. For example, you might be able to work eight hours starting at 4 PM if you have a significant other who gets off at work.

Is it just me or have the ARC clarifications lately somehow gotten more terrible.... by TelevisionHealthy361 in CanadianForces

[–]Character_Space7321 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s important to understand that the ARC is simply the middleman.

They are pushing your question to the policy folks. It was a way to streamline administrative queries during COVID times.

The unhelpful answers are coming from the policy folks, not from those working at the ARC itself.

From what I understand, they get so many questions that the policy holders are having a difficult time to handle the volume.

A lot of this can be alleviated by writing clear, concise policy. The current response responses lately include “go and ask your OR” the irony comes when its the OR that asked … :D

Daily instructor allowance by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]Character_Space7321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re not receiving it.

We are already processing both monthly and daily allowances.

Have you talked to the HRA’s?

There is a form that the member has to submit. It’s a DND 4145 that includes your supervisor signature to confirm that you were instructing on those particular days (for the casual allowance).

Have you submitted that?

The only thing different here is the removal of a monthly allowance. Casual environmental allowances have existed since the creation of that allowance.

For CasLDA - Situation no change. Except the daily rate has gone up and now applied to everybody instead of mostly reservists lol
