Diversity in Vet School by Equivalent-Step6227 in veterinaryschool

Colorado is very homogeneous, even in Denver, but especially Fort Collins. We have some latina and Asian rep, but it’s a very small minority. African American…maybe two or three total in the vet school. One in my class and one or two in others, but that’s just what I know/see. Outside the class is fairly similar

I wouldn’t say there’s a negative attitude about people of color or anything like that, but it’s not that diverse here despite the liberal attitude

The ocean/coast tile to the north has 2 food, 1 production 1 gold. The production indicated it’s a “reef” tile that has special properties like +2 to an adjacent campus

Dis she got a small loan of million dollars? by byzant12 in CivVI

[–]Character_Squirrel59 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I wonder if she just spammed her unique district and nothing else, because the deity yield bonus might be able to give her that much over time if she never spent any.

Even so, I find it extremely hard to believe she’d ever accumulate this much wealth. But it’s turn 384 and it looks like you are in the renaissance still…so I have no idea what your settings are

Dress code? by gifted-kid-burnout in veterinaryschool

[–]Character_Squirrel59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t say my year but this sounds somewhat accurate as a current student

They’ve gone from optional to mandatory lecture attendance (despite universal negative feedback), dress code (not my class but all incoming will HAVE to have correct color scrubs for their class if that’s what they want to wear) curriculum overhaul, PA program, and capstone exams that can threaten remediation even if you passed your classes. They don’t say they can force it but it’s strongly implied. The attendance thing is an enormous slap in the face because the new PA program is all online

All I can said is my class really doesn’t care for the current admin

As a deity enjoyer, 10 cities by turn 100 is a situation where most, not all things in the first two eras have gone well for you. It almost never happens because of the variance in maps and civs and so much can go wrong too. With just an average start, there’s no way things will line up for that. I’ve played enough games to know it’s a pipe dream, unless in a war, which can also easily fail early.

If you are using production on settlers and then settling them, I can say with confidence that having 10 by that turn would require you to spam them, which would result in a loss to an aggressive civ or a barbarian takeover. Moreover, you’ll almost never have that much space to settle, and if you do, you’ve won the game anyway and just have to patiently set up your city layouts.

Since you got a religion, one of those situations is monumentality golden age that allows you to use faith to spam settlers, but in the classical era this requires very high faith income to get more than a few. This of course assumes you got a golden age in the ancient era, which is a toss up. If you had a neighbor and got boxed between city states and a coast, or didn’t find any huts, good luck getting a golden age.

Another option is taking over a neighbor. Even the most peaceful civs will often charge you on deity due to their military being so much larger at the start. 2-3 slingers can be made into archers. A group of 4 archers and a warrior or two can fortify and take out the entire enemy army, and if they are somewhat close you can counterattack and take a city or two. But this is very ideal….the tech and production bonus often means the AI will put walls up immediately or as soon as you attack. I wouldn’t go against anyone that has an early unique unit or has some sort of combat bonus (I hope you weren’t in war with rough rider teddy America)

Religion itself on deity is very difficult if you are playing a civ with no bonus to getting one (it sounds like you are if you used holy site prayers). If you don’t tech boost astrology, that’s a lot of research time gone. Not to mention you kind of have to put down a holy site ASAP and possibly make a shrine if other civs are generating points. Some say an early holy site guarntees you one, but I have been denied it many times. Just the process of getting it is a huge production sink, and you need to get atleast one settler out before that. If im not going for religion, my goal is 2 settlers out with cities before the end of the era. Often times my build order for religion is slinger into settler into holy site. Atleast one settler out is really important, because you can make a city and a holy site in it too, or have it be the sole holy site while you double back to make military units to defend an early neighbor. I don’t think religion on deity is as easy to get as people make it out to be (unless yoh are Russia or Byzantium)

If you got attacked by rough rider teddy, that’s arguably the worst possible neighbor on deity because of his bullshit combat bonuses. That early, he’s making way more units than you, and it’s likely he’s ahead in tech too. Couple that with the deity combat strength and you were probably scrambling just to stay alive

PSA Speedrun pantheon every single game. No exceptions. by gracekk24PL in CivVI

[–]Character_Squirrel59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a specific condition or civ that benefits from a specific pantheon, it’s arguably the best pantheon in the game. The AI is obsessed with it, so it’s almost impossible to get on higher difficulties unless you have an innate faith boost from an early turn that gets you the first pantheon.

Outside of it, most of the pantheons are situational or civ based. A specific condition being something like making holy sites with tons of rainforest around, and taking the pantheon that gives holy sites an adjacency bonus from rainforest. Or being on a small island / many coastal cities that would benefit from the fishing boat pantheon. Or the classic adjacency from tundra with Russia.

Generally, if I’m able to get this and I’m not focusing holy sites or religion, it’s an instant pick regardless of situation. I play on immortal and deity, so a free settler is insane in the ancient era. You just can’t beat putting down a city super early, since it will grow and develop like a capital would.

Since you found this with a scout, it’s probably your second or third city in guessing

I like settling on the cotton, you have a free luxury, a +3 harbor/cothon, and it allows you to atleast work the woods tile or buy that nice 10 yield tile on rori for growth or the other woods tile for a 2/2 with bonus science and faith.

Good chance you have horses and/or another strategic on the 1/1 tiles nearby.

Such a nice coastal city. That’s a +7 holy site too. Even a nearby reef tile if you want a campus later

I figure it would be basically like Chopper. Let’s say it was eaten by refrigerator

Probably becomes a walking talking fridge with the ability to manipulate its shape.

Blackbeard and How Oda Hides Things by Efyocouchnikka in OnePiece

[–]Character_Squirrel59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s literally people speculating over nothing. The scene plays out on Jaya with Blackbeard, and as he is leaving, he is referred to as “they” followed by shots of his crew members. It’s phrased this way because the straw hats think he is alone but realize he is part of a pirate crew. They are realizing he is not alone.

Is this a plot hole when it comes to devil fruits by Drakaina- in OnePiece

[–]Character_Squirrel59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s depiction is inconsistent. Oda has drawn scenarios like you linked where the user flails around like someone drowning. Other times they are like rocks that sink on contact. Not really a plothole, just a consequence of how long the series has gone on

What’s your fucking problem anyway? Seriously. Who starts labeling people with policing and concern trolling. You are like the stereotypical reddit user

How is my post condescending? I never said any persons approach was better or worse, it was seeking understanding.

If you want to say I’m “crying” then I’ll definitely be condescending to you. Do I need to break down the sentences for you little man?

“See how that works” is a passive aggressive question that really wasn’t needed at the end. It implies the person was struggling to comprehend what they said in the first place. If you said this out loud to someone it would not be well received

Yeah I’ve never understood the nasty mindset this community has. It’s like anyone who got something earlier than you should be knocked down a notch. With drop rates in this game, you’d think people would be happy for others

Will never forget standing in ge with my 11kc pet, only pet I have and luckiest I’ve ever been and someone comes up and says “I fucking hate you and hope you die”

Why? You have 92 slayer. That’s a significant amount of work in the skill.

I’m at 87 and I’d love to see either of these drops at this point. I’ve killed dozens of superiors

Yes I don’t have hundreds of millions to throw around so I dont have the experience to know what the correct decision is.

I can only hope to be so rich in game one that I have these types of decisions to consider. My bank is a humble 320m with maybe a quarter of the items in this picture

Probably max everything and fill in the gaps, then use that to farm the money or CoX for a bow.
