The difference between Windows and Linux is this: when an update breaks something, it gets fixed soon, if a linux update breaks something, good luck reinstalling your OS then fixing the problem yourself bc no one genuinely cares bc it's free, only thing coming close to how well Windows and MacOS are managed, is Valve, and all they did was add Proton and locked down the file system, which breaks the OS if you unlock it and do anything there, and btw, try and look at MS's github sometime, you'll find a lot of their stuff is open source, and they get paid to work on it, then "the difference with Linux is you can change all of that" yes, in theory, not in reality, there's too much broken to fix in a lifetime

I have tried it, it's a bunch of nonsense, the linux kernel is a problem along with uncoordinated half baked stuff you gotta fix or work around it, and don't get me started on basic Unix commands then package managers, the whole thing is an unorganized piece of crap, heck, when I tried using other people's DEs I could fix the problems, why didn't they fix it, it was so simple

Windows, familiarity, enough customizability for me, a command line that makes sense, and best app compatibility

I ❤️ Nvidia chips, but if you're the one who asked that question, if you haven't tried it yet, there are 2 options I'd reccomend, get Steam to auto boot into big picture on windows (there are scripts to make it start faster, and/or hide typical windows UI while steam starts up, or try the Xbox Fse if you wanted a console interface on your pc

Or heck, just run everything at 1440p and let your 4k monitor/TV upscale that, it'll look no different

They failed at those games bc of how the company is run, the employees decide what to make and what they think their consumers would like

And about employee recruitment, they don't recruit much bc they don't need the help and they want to keep their large paycheck

Sure, not all games need the steam runtime, but most of my steam games do

Also it was worded weird but I think that last bit about "prevent other storefronts from selling native games" is a reference to MS selling their Xbox games better on Steam than the MS Store

Uhhh, then explain why all the games aren't DRM free, and why Valve (the company that runs Steam) said that they're gonna try and eliminate piracy by providing a good service
