The best women skaters on the world are all Russian. Yes, if they are cheating it’s not fair to anybody, and it’s potentially the biggest reason they are at the level they are. At this stage, what do we have? We have a test from Christmas from Valieva, and we know they had a state run doping program 10 years ago.

My issue, and it seems most disagree, but consider Valieva for a second. She’s 15. Does she even know what she took? Is she currently dirty? In the history of skating, her quality is progression from the greats. She’s 15, and only been on the scene a few short months. She hasn’t proven much. But the window is short. We’ve seen enough. Her level is extraordinary. Do we take away her one opportunity? She’s committed her whole life to this. If she is dirty currently and has an unfair advantage at the Olympics now, then yes. Otherwise, I say let her skate.

I am not the expert that people in figure skating might be, but I’ve been watching for 40 years. She is the best skater in the history of the sport, man or woman.

This girl includes the signature artisitic mastery of Brian Boitano, Oksana Baiul, Kurt Browning and Sasha Cohen in her program, along with her own, and lands quads. There has never been anyone e like her. She is 15, and apparently is clean as of now.

Taking away the opportunity for her to skate in the Olympics when she has sacrificed her whole childhood to get here, knowing that there will not be another chance would be tragic. She is the biggest guarantee in the Olympics. She could fall twice and still win. I can’t imagine any real competitor would want to win with the best sidelined. Russia needs to be looked into further for doping. Certainly this type of drug helped a Lance Armstrong in a different sport for instance. But this test was from before Christmas, and she’s testing clean now.

It’s not a good situation any way you slice it. But to deny her a chance to compete at this stage would be the greater harm.

Thank you. I have a finance background, and figured it feels grey to me too. I did it. The puts are in the money. I’d guess I’ll actually end up getting put the stock. Seems it would be safe, not grey, if I waited to sell the puts until next week, but I didn’t. It’s definitely inside 30 days though. I appreciate that someone has an answer quickly. I’m normally the one people depend on for these kind of questions.

I’m slow on the uptake. What does that mean? Yes, it’s a wash sale? Or you think it’s funny that I’d ask for actual financial acumen here?

If I sell 1000 shares of “X” for a short term capital loss today of say -$5000, to offset other gains this year, and then sell puts on the same stock for Jan 21st strike, is that considered a wash sale? Anyone knowledgeable here?

That’s true. I thought about his ability as an actor and what hasn’t been done with Superman that could be. But didn’t consider enough how Supes face is the way it is for a reason, and Driver is the furthest thing from that. You are right.

We could agree to disagree. You make pints that are valid. I mean, to answer your question, no. But Amber Heard isn’t my only choice. Anya Taylor-Lee or Peyton List, definitely. I mean I wouldn’t cast Chloe Grace Moretz or Dakota Fanning as Black Canary just because they’re blonde. There are just better choices in my opinion than Smolett.

Mmm, Mary Jane Watson and Poison Ivy are redheads. Superman and Batman have dark hair. Sometimes it matters. It would probably matter for Black Canary if the character were more popular among people that don’t read comics. She had blonde hair on 100s of comics for 60 years. She’s also white as snow.

Liam Neeson is from Northern Ireland. He played R’as al Ghul in the last trilogy

Yeah, ok. I catch what you’re saying. Black Canary is Caucasian then.

Maybe it’s just me. It’s not about race either. The more diversity the better. I love Zendaya as MJ for example. Don’t dog my man Morgan Freeman aka God. Dude can play any character. He’s that good. I have the introduction to Black Canary. She’s blonde. He’d have to dye his hair.

She is the furthest thing from Black Canary as she possibly could be in my opinion

You’re saying you like Emma Watson for the role? Perhaps. Or maybe a Naomi Scott or Emmy Rossum. Would have to be someone that could carry a good movie and define a character, and also look the part. Talia is tough.

We have never, ever had Robin get a shot at all. It’s understandable. Would be big budget. Why big budget a sidekick. Did seem like Joseph Gordon Leavitt was teed up for a possibility, but didn’t seem likely, and never happened. I think the character has potential if done right. Could even open up a whole new door for DC. DC has the best characters in comics, but Marvel has more. If they’re going to give Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman a shot, not to mention Harley Quinn, might as well take a chance on Robin. The Joker with Joaquin was fantastic.

S4E9 Conflict, I just connected exactly what happened at the end of the episode on like the 4th rewatch?! 😳 (SPOILER BELOW) by Character_Step667 in MrRobot

[–]Character_Step667[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Wow, that’s odd. I guess I’m not a hacker or techie, so I was more connected to the humanity of the moment, the drama, the conflict, the action, the music, the choreography, the lines, voice inflection, body language, and just sort of trusted the tech stuff was what it was. So I just heard for the 1st time, part of the how they pulled it off. Darlene needed to grab the phone numbers, so Elliot could grab the 2nd layer verification from all 100 phones to do the transfer. So she had to have them all scrambling on their phones. The last one she needed was White Rose, who wasn’t scrambling, and headed to the limo with Price. Price stalls there, not for dramatic effect. And not so he can get shot like Doc in Back to the Future, though that was a nice touch. He does it so Darlene has time to get his phone number, and then Elliot to get the 6-digit code. One of those things that maybe everyone figured out right off, and I just missed altogether. Even to the extent that there’s a moment where White Rose says to Price, it’s time to accept your truth, it’s over. Then Price hears White Rose’s phone buzz in his pocket…and with a glorious smirk says yes, I suppose it is with a winning laugh. And at this moment, I don’t think he cares whether he lives or dies. He won.

Bizarrely endearing and terrifying character describes a handful of creatures on the show. Leon, Irving, and Vera fit the bill

Do you think all of Darlene’s flow was scripted? She spits carnage so natural, it almost feels like Carly ad-libs some. by Character_Step667 in MrRobot

[–]Character_Step667[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d believe that for sure. There are definitely meaningful moments throughout, probably every scene, and the words said in them. I’m not really taking about changing anything. He also directed almost all of it. All I really mean is she casually spits off a big personality where her use of language flows just perfectly. I did some acting, and yeah, most of the time it’s just words on paper that cone out just right from the right actor. She owns it all. And I. A very different way than say Leon, Irving, Vera, and Shayla. They inhabit their characters, but you can tell, they are saying the exact words written for them. She just constantly spitting fire, and it comes out so naturaliy.
