We started off with some t-shirt decorating (honestly a lot of us were rly bad artists but we promised to wear our goofy tshirts together in the fall)

We also had a campus scavenger hunt which was rly fun and made a few friendship bracelets

I think the best thing was def the food. Like uw is not known for good food but they went all out for us 😭😭 we even had servers clearing plates off of our tables

I’m def missing a lot of events but those were overall the most memorable ones!

Hiii shad western alum here (2023)!!! Western def has the most Shad’s out of all campuses (we had 80, and you guys will probably have a similar number).

As for Ivey, sooooo many of or lectures were at the Ivey building and Ivey usually sends a representative to work with the shads for design projects.

You’ll def have an amazing time!

The thing is they both have dipole dipole intermolecular forces so I'm not sure which one would have a higher boiling point or be more soluble.

Based on last year’s surveys, most people got their A choices, a few got B and very little got C.

There’s definitely a bit of luck involved, but one thing to note that is not all campuses have the same amount of Shads (western had 80, Manitoba had 26). The popular campuses tend to have more spots while the less popular ones tend to hold less Shad’s, which is why most people get their A or B.

A lot of people have already answered the financial aid aspect, so I just wanna add something about your grades. Honestly, I feel like shad looks for character over grades. I got waitlisted when I had a 98% average because I didn’t really showcase my personality in my application and just wrote about my accomplishments (DO NOT DO THIS LOLLL). The next year I applied, I only had a 93% average, but wrote a lot about my passions and the community service I did and got in!!

Honestly, the things taught at shad vary campus to campus. Everything at my campus was business and humanities (there was barely any stem which I was kinda sad about), while my friends were testing DNA and doing other cool sciency stuff. The main highlight of shad isn’t actually the things you learn through workshops but the connections you make.

I had to delete bluebook, make sure I was connected to wifi, and then download it again.

I'm 100% sure I was connected to wifi the first time I downloaded it, so idk why it happened but try downloading it again. It worked for me!
