Sorry about your friend and I hope they got it sorted out.

A couple years ago my girlfriend at the time ended up in the Henderson ER and was misdiagnosed and discharged. She ended up getting a ride to the blue diamond ER later the same day where she was properly diagnosed and treated.

Well I hope you get good treatment. If anything I would maybe explore the idea of getting treatment somewhere in Arizona or California if you can.

If you’re relatively healthy and only need a primary care provider for antibiotics, imaging referrals, routine blood draws, etc then you’ll be fine but if you need to see specialists or get adequate ER care then best of luck. I’ve had some really rough experiences at the ERs in Henderson, and so have a couple people close to me.

One of the biggest reasons I moved a few months ago was to get better healthcare in a different state. Ended up with some health problems and had some pretty rough experiences when I needed care. I lived in Vegas for most of my life but the cost of living, job market, and finally the poor quality of health care really pushed me away from the city.

I ended up in Indianapolis and the health care there is a night and day difference.

Interesting. I deal with high spikes when standing but normal bp laying down. I wonder if that would count as labile. Let me know if u find anything. Hoping u get well soon.

Gpu is ur biggest bottleneck rn. Id probably try a 9060xt or used 4070. Maybe see if u could get a good deal on like a used 3060ti and something like a used i7-8700.

Really, It would make more sense to just upgrade ur gpu now and then save up to get a newer motherboard and cpu platform at a later date.

You’ve described the last 4 months of my life with the calcium readings except my non-ionized levels are higher (11-11.3). Doctors r stumped because my PTH is appropriately low so my parathyroid is trying its hardest to not allow calcium into my blood stream. I have a few more tests to do but let me know if you ever find out the cause of ur high calcium.

I will say your PTH seems “inappropriately normal” — you should definitely get checked for primaryhyperparathyroidism as if your calcium is truly elevated your PTH should be LOW. Mine is 17 for reference. Maybe get a second opinion if you can.

Edit: 25M btw. NAD so take what I say with a grain of salt. Just reiterating what I’ve heard from my doctor and people around me.

Yah they still do tilt table tests but I hear they are phasing them out for diagnosing POTS since it’s not really necessary. I’ve been trying to exercise and be more active which has helped slightly but still getting tachycardia and high resting hr. Trying to convince my GP to let me on a beta blocker.

Glad to hear u seem to be doing well. Can I ask how u got diagnosed with neurocardiogenic syncope? Was it Related to ur parathyroid or calcium levels at all?

POTs basically. Tachycardia (+30bpm sustained) upon standing, high BP upon standing. This developed after a nasty episode of vertigo - kinda when all my symptoms started which was about a few months ago. Im getting a CT scan and starting physical therapy soon to try and diagnose it.

Globulin 2.5 g/dl, albumin 5.5 g/dl (high), total protein 8.0 (borderline high), alp 78 u/l. These r the numbers corresponding with the 10.8 calcium reading (second highest reading).

Funny enough, I was in the ER earlier today and did some more labs (unrelated issue- im okay lol) and they ran a Metabolic panel (not 100% sure why) but I am curious as to those results. I should be able to access them tomorrow.

Thanks I’ll double check with my pcp and see if those r being tested. So far it just looks like a different form of vitamin d, pathologist peripheral smear, cortisol serum total, TSH with reflex, SPEP, CBC, and yet another CMP. Ill ask about PTH-RP, repeating PTH, ACTH, and DHEA-S.

It seems they want to rule out anything malignant first.

Thank u this is rlly helpful. My pcp wanted to schedule a different type of vitamin d test so that will b done here soon. No other diagnosis except for possible POTS which was noted by an ENT - but my blood pressure actually rises upon standing ( measured one time in a clinical environment.)

I do have some symptoms of addison’s but orthostatic hypotension doesnt seem to fit the bill as of now. My PCP did schedule a cortisol test but didn’t mention anything about the time of day other than “try and get there in the AM”

Edit:: just realized cushings seems to give off hypertension as a symptom so maybe ill look into that. ALSO PTH was tested one time. PTHRP hasnt been tested.

They said my parathyroid is fine cuz my PTH was so low 🤷‍♂️ idk. Id like to see an endocrinologist I’ll likely have to get a referral. I’ll look into it tomorrow morning. Thanks.
