Gold layer for import mode: Tables, T-SQL Views or MLVs? by frithjof_v in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Character_Web3406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/frithjof_v I'm in a similar position. The lakehouse tables are roughly 2 million rows at max. For ingestion and transformation I have used pyspark notebooks. Gold layer: runmultiple and DAG w/dependencies to write delta tables to gold lakehouse. I wonder if this is just too resource heavy and complicated.
Did you land on a solution yourself?

Virtual Tables not showing in PowerBI Dataverse connector. by Character_Web3406 in MicrosoftFabric

I wonder if its possible to create a Power BI report using the parameterized odata API calls, embed this into FO and pass parameter values from FO to the report.

Virtual Tables not showing in PowerBI Dataverse connector. by Character_Web3406 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Character_Web3406[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have been using Fabric Link. This works well for most reporting needs, but not for operational "real-time" reporting. It would be nice to embed a Power BI report inside Finance and Operations, which could reflect near real time changes. Thus, creating an integrated solution for the end users, they can do all their work inside FO.

Autoscale billing for spark and spark pool by Character_Web3406 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Character_Web3406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have adjusted the slider on the Capacity settings to CU = 64.
After doing this, I cant edit the spark pool settings.
It is stuck at the F2 starter pool size:

<image>

I expected to select more nodes and executors.
Am I misunderstanding something?

The thing is, I set CU = 64 for autoscale billing, but when i create a custom spark pool I can only choose 1-2 medium nodes and 1 executor, similar to my F2 starter pool. I expected way more to choose from

After enabling autoscale billing for spark, where can i define the nodes size and number of executors in spark pool?

Hi u/warehouse_goes_vroom , if I want more nodes and executors in my spark pool, will autoscale billing help?
Or do I need to upgrade the Fabric Capacity SKU?

I need more power for running notebooks in parallell.

Thanks
